This is one of my happy places. There is always some wildlife to enjoy and a lovely little playground for the littles. Easy access and plenty of parking. It's also a great place to watch the launches!
Decent but well used county park in Port St. John. Nice open spaces, a playground, restrooms, and plenty of shelters for birthdays and celebrations. It’s right on the Indian River as well. Although the rocks on the shoreline may not be conducive to kayak or paddleboard entry, you will find plenty of places to fish from. It is a high traffic park and does have some of the unsheltered population there at times. Unfortunately this sometimes means there will be be refuse and discarded items strewn about.
Nice little park. It wasn't too busy when we were there even with the rocket launch it was only a handful of people around
This is a nice little side of the road park. It is a great place to see a rocket launch. There is ample parking here and cement walkway, I went a day after rain and it was a little soggy, so I appreciated the cement. If you go at night be sure to look for the bio luminescent algae that is in the water. Throw a small rock in and check it out. If you look close you can see the fish swimming through the water. Very Cool!! I did go out at night and there were a couple of homeless people there, but they kept to themselves while they sang. Just FYI.
The bathrooms are gross, definitely need an upgrade. Outside is nice. I wish it wasn’t right next to the road tho. I wanted a come to a park that was relaxing and quiet but the road is right there. Maybe if they put up some hedges along the road it would be nicer.
It smelled like shrimp, but the wind and the salty air just helped me ground myself. The bench next to the Indian river was super nice. I watched the day turn into night. I want to go fishing after work here. One day! update! Fishy smell gone after Ian. Looks and smells amazing!
Love this park as today on mothers day was our first family visit as it was a very convenient location and set up by the water 😀
What a dope little chill spot! It's got a nice little playground several covered picnic tables along with some benches along the shoreline. Pretty standard Park bathrooms but they're always clean. There's a cove between the park and the boat launch just south that has a nice little beach type deal, beautiful. Also there is a relatively large grassy field to maybe enjoy some sporting goods you have on hand, and one thing I did see from the sign is that they are not drawn friendly so keep that in mind. Also it's 12-13 miles from the common launch areas 😁
