During a visit to our grandsons, my husband & I stayed at Nichols B & B, as a refreshing & welcome change from the chain motels available in the area. |The 1800’s house is sweetly decorated in a way that feels like what “ home “ should feel like . We were warmly greeted by Walt ( a James Taylor look alike), & owner, Dorothy. |Our Eleanor room was up a short, but narrow flight of stairs. Although small in size, it actually had everything you’d need for your stay. I had 2 very fine nights of sleep in a very fine softish bed ( feathers?). with fine linens & a lovely quilt. |Breakfasts were plentiful & creative ( try apple pancakes, kielbasa, granola, eggs, sausage, home baked date & nut bread plus more ). Conversation around the breakfast table was lively & interesting. We were lucky to have Walt & Dorothy join us for breakfast both mornings, & they are indeed charming & engaging hosts. |We will definitely return when we visit the area again. |
This was the first B&B that my boyfriend and I have stayed in. The Nichols Guest House was a wonderful experience! Our accomidations were quaint, clean, and comfortable. Breakfast was very good. The fresh squeezed orange juice and homemade zucchini bread were delicious! We enjoyed the morning conversation very much. When we told Dorothy of our plans to go to Providence for the day, she gave us several pamphlets about the area; she had quite a bit of information on hand regarding surrounding areas. Next time we are in the area, we will be staying here!!
Nichols is an excellent B&B in the Providence area. We only stayed a night, but the owners were so sweet and the room so comfortable we wished we were there for longer. The room was spacious enough and the bed was so comfortable. The TV had plenty of channels to flick through before bed, and the bathroom was well-stocked. Everything was very clean and cozy. Despite sharing walls with them, we didn't hear the other guests once. Walt's breakfast was delicious, and the other guests were lovely to dine with. From the note on the door welcoming you to the personalized breakfast, it really felt like being home - but being pampered there! For the room rates, you won't find a better place to stay in the area. Not even close.
We stayed here for one night on a New England road trip. We arrived at around 4pm and there were plenty of spaces on the lot. Walt, the manager, was friendly and helpful. The room was very good (if a little cramped); pretty clean and super-comfortable beds.||Comfortable sitting room downstairs||Breakfast was excellent, prepared by the owner, Dorothy. This is a place where all the guests (+ Dorothy & Walt) eat breakfast sitting around a large table and it was good fun – the time flew by!||We will be back!
We stayed one night for a wedding we were attending. The house is quaint and the 3 bedrooms were very nicely decorated. House was clean, bed comfortable, shower great and it was a very positive experience.||Dorothy and Walter made a fabulous breakfast that was included in the price. So nice to have them join us for breakfast.
Stunning rooms! Booked for my mother and the lovely couple who own the place upgraded the room to one with it's own bathroom. The room and house are very much classic new england with amazing charm. A full breakfast made by the owners is lovely. They also acquainted my mother with her knew area! 10/10m recommend. Also a great couples get away!
This is not a typical bed & breakfast. The house is older than it looks in this picture. The rooms are tiny and the bathroom and shower tinier. If you've ever stayed in Europe and experienced the tiny bathrooms you will know just what I mean. The breakfast was good. Nice conversation with other guests and Walt. The place could use a makeover but it served its purpose and wasn't that bad for one night.|
It was such a nice experience. The room is small but cozy, and very clean. We like that homey experience. The host, Walter, was very friendly. He cooked us such a nice breakfast, served in fine china. It was the best breakfast that we had for years. ||||Highly recommend.
Great little place! The atmosphere was nice, waitstaff was fantastic, and the food was delicious. Auntie ordered a Cinnamon Roll Pancake, and I had the Happy Irishman Eggs Benedict. With REAL hash, not canned! The tarragon hollandaise sauce wa
We stayed here 5 nights while visiting relatives. Sam, the manager, was the best. He gave great directions to nearby stores, had great suggestions about places to eat and places to visit. The staff were super friendly and helpful also. Breakfast was
Our waitress was prompt and friendly. The food came out fast, hot, and was just what we needed. I don't eat very much at all, due to weight loss surgery and the waitress never questioned that. I asked for a box to go and she was very pleasant.
