Newt's South - American restaurant in Rochester - 1201 Broadway Ave S, USA

I'm going to give Newt's South in Rochester a 5 star rating. Newt's is your typical burger / sandwich / fries or onion rings / and sports bar. One thing I will give them an excellent writing on is there a variety of burgers and sandwiches. Aside from that nothing was spectacular about the restaurant or the food. To be quite frank with you, my wife and I both thought that their french fries were rather limp and soggy. Will we be back? Definitely yes. The restrooms were clean and tidy on the late afternoon of our 1st visit last week. That's saying a lot considering how many customers they probably had already served that day. And like I've said in many many of my reviews, clean and tidy restrooms are very important to Travelers.

The food tonight was amazing! I ordered the Marvin burger with a salad, and the burger to sauce ratio was perfect. My husband got onion rings with his burger, and they were the best onion rings we've had. Perfect light and crispy on the outside and soft on the inside with a nice crunch. Our waitress was also amazing as well and did a great job.

The service was pretty good. However, the french fries were cold, and for some reason, stale like they sat out for some time. The onion rings got cold and soggy. I have been told by a lot of people that I need to check this place out. So we came with family to celebrate our anniversary and I was very disappointed. The burger I had was a Marvin burger with Chipotle sauce. Well, it looked like someone took a small spoon and put a blob of it in one spot. Not even in the middle of the burger. It was on the edge like someone was in a hurry. The burger itself was good and hot, at least. I don't think I will be back, which is too bad. The cheese curds were just ok. At least they, too, were hot.

Wonderful food and service. The cheese curd appetizer was wonderful, lightly breaded, and fried to perfection. The Todd's burger with onion rings was great and cooked to order. The three little pigs sandwich with fries was also great.

Food is really good. Some of the staff (mostly the guys) seem to be more interested in singing to the exceptionally loud music that's always playing, so they really don't seem to engage with the customers like other bars/restaurants we've been to. It's kinda like they're partying with each other, (low-key), so it makes the atmosphere a little weird.. Food is always good though.

We had a great time at Newts!! First, the popcorn and half priced pitchers set the mood for some great onion ring appetizers. Had some onion rings left over that we used for topping our Thanksgiving day green bean casserole. My Newt burger was really good. Their coleslaw was creamy and tasty as well. Service was excellent!! Three of us ate for around $50.

The margaritas were some of the best we have ever had. Popcorn brought to your table is a delightfully unique twist and was good. Dave's Burger wasn't spicy and was closer to rare than the medium I ordered. Triple Pig sandwich was on point and service was excellent.

We went there for lunch on a Sunday .. The atmosphere was nice .. there were families and singles on the bar .. We took Marvin's burger and peanut burger with upgraded onions rings and two draf IPAs The bartender was nice enough to give us some samples and help us choose what we wanted to drink.. Burgers were 10\10 Fries 10\10 Onion rings 8\10 too oily IPAs 10\10 The only downfall was that you go home and your clothes and hair smelling frying oil .. I think they should fix their air system or fan to get rid of the frying smell .. 30 $ for the burgers 15 $ for the beers 10 $ 20% Tip 60 $ total All in all .. a nice experience ..
