My family, including my 5 year old son, and I had a great time visiting here on Christmas Eve. The lines weren’t too bad and the weather wasn’t too cold so we lucked out! The main attraction was the Holiday Train show which was amazing. We also took a ride on the free shuttle bus around the entire property which was about a half hour ride. I look forward to coming back more to explore the grounds more fully in different seasons!
The New York Botanical Garden in the Bronx is an absolute five-star treasure, especially during their orchid exhibit. Walking through those lush, colorful displays of orchids is like stepping into a floral wonderland. The garden itself is a serene oasis in the heart of the bustling city, providing a perfect escape into nature. It's not just a garden; it's a living museum, a place where art and science collide beautifully. The orchid exhibit, in particular, is a breathtaking experience. The sheer variety and vibrant colors of these delicate blooms are nothing short of awe-inspiring. Whether you're a seasoned botanist or just someone who appreciates the beauty of flowers, it's an enchanting journey. But it's not just about pretty flowers; it's also about education and conservation. The New York Botanical Garden is at the forefront of research and preservation efforts, making it an essential institution for the planet's well-being. So, whether you're a nature enthusiast, a couple looking for a romantic date, or a family with curious kids, this place has something for everyone. It's a sanctuary of beauty, knowledge, and tranquility right in the heart of the Bronx. Five stars for this incredible botanical gem and its captivating orchid exhibit!
Had a lovely time. The train show is really amazing. You'll enjoy it. It's also just far enough away from the noise of our BK neighborhood that we felt like we were on vacation. Highly recommend.
One could easily spend several days here, exploring the many exhibits, trails, and gardens. Overall a lovely experience, special gardens are available for children’s to explore, the tram rounds every 25 minutes or so, dining available in the cafe but there appears to be ample room for picnics. Very kid friendly.
The botanical garden located in the Bronx was established in 1891 and is spread out over about 260 acres. There is an entrance charge to the garden. It is about a 22-minute train ride from Grand Central Station and a few minutes walk from the train station. It's a great place for children. A tram ride provides a good overview of the garden. We were there for the birding 101 guided tour. Our guide, who was very knowledgeable, talked about the migratory habits of different birds and also how to tell the type of birds from the sound they made. We managed to identify over 10 different birds in our one hour tour. There are cafes and toilets conveniently located near the main entrance. The Bronx Little Italy neighbourhood is about a 20-minute walk from the main entrance of the park and has amazing Italian food and pastries.
NYBG glow and train show. Beautiful ! The garden is lit up beautifully. The line for the train show moved quickly , and even if you had a long wait it was well worth it.Food and drink are available. A little pricey , but to each his own. The traffic to go into the garden parking lot was horrendous There is plenty of parking on southern boulevard. It’s right across from the garden.
Although it’s hard to get to up in the Bronx, if you don’t live out there, it’s well worth a trip. The garden is HUGE. Definitely be prepared to spend a good chunk of your day here, if not the entire day. It’s so peaceful to walk through the various parts. You get everything from forests and waterfalls, to rose gardens. There’s even an edible garden section. There is supposedly a shuttle bus that goes around the park, but I never saw it in the few hours I was walking around the park. That said, it may have been because I was there during very low traffic time (middle of the day on a week day). Highly recommend checking it out if you’re in the New York metro area!
I was so lucky to have been brought here by my friends. I don't really know how much the ticket costs coz they used a free pass as they were members. So sorry, I wouldn't be able to give an idea of the cost. However, I can say it was really beautiful!!! We went the Halloween weekend so there were events and it was Fall!!! We spent 3 hours or so walking and hiking. We had a stroller with us and at times, the stroller had to be carried to go down or up the steps. We had fun!

I live in the area and am very grateful this cafe is here. My mom is a huge pancake lover and she gave a huge thumbs up to The Way's fluffy cakes! Great attention to detail with beverages and just a generally well balanced menu and atmosphere. Defin
Everyone who works here is so nice and the hotel is very clean. My favorite part was the water fill station which seems like such a simple thing but it was nice being able to fill our reusable bottles whenever we needed to. Right by a subway station
