Went all the way out of my way, and they gave me a deal for 5 days, when I got there she made an excuse saying she couldn't scan my id- and that its something wrong to do with my id. My id is valid. Was her system, not mine. Very rude. Don't waste your time

Nice staff, amazing service, clean rooms, peaceful environment. i've been living here for a couple months now and I have had nothing but an amazing experience.

I always come to the same motel every time i need a place to stay in new mill. every time i come back, they have always updated something to make it a better stay.

Rooms are terrible and the prices are outrageous!! Not recommended!!

I love this place its quiet very close to my job. The owners are very nice and they are very on top of the up keep on the property. The price is very reasonable.

My wife and I have been living here for going on 10 months the management are very polite respectful as far as the rooms clean decent size and very quiet

Monday, April 17, 2017 - Approximately 6:30pm. We are presently staying in town in Rockford. We were looking for something closer to the Airport, that was not on a main drag (downtown city street), not in town, better rate and most importantly 'quieter'. I ran across the New Mill Motel. At first I tried to call before making the 15 minute run down there, but no one answered the phone. I should have known that was a bad sign, but ignored it and went down there anyway. I chalked up the no answer to possibly helping another customer (utopian thinking). The New Mill Motel is located just across the Kishwaukee River on 251. We get there and the parking lot is SMALL. I don't mean small, I mean SMALL. TINY. Not enough space for a vehicle if every room was full. The office is located in the middle of the building, so we go in. The foyer is TINY. To the right is the office door. The window was closed, but we heard someone talking inside. The sign said to "Ring the Bell" so we did. The window opened up and the gentleman (Eastern Indian) was on the phone talking in his native tongue. He puts the call on hold and attends to us. We ask about rates. First he tells me not to lean on the ledge there at the window, where writing and signing is done, because as he says "It is weak". Okay. The first rate he quotes us is a nightly at $45 + tax. We aren't interested in nightly. We want to know about weekly or monthly. He states very plainly that for 2 adults for one week is $250. I have to ask him if that is tax included and he said no. That was without tax. Tax included brought the rate up to $265 a week. And oh, by the way, there is a SECURITY DEPOSIT at the time of check in. That amount is one week's rent, which means you can check in for the low, low rate of $530. Supposedly the security deposit is refundable at the time of check out. Supposedly. We ask to see a room. That stuns him. It stuns him to the point that he looks at me and asks what it is exactly that I want to see in the room. I look him square in the eye and say "I want to see the room, I want to see the bed, I want to see the condition of the room, I want to see if it is what we want". And with that he looks me square in the eye and says "I don't have time to show you a room, I'm busy". And with that we thanked him and walked out. Now, like I said, the foyer was small. There were 3 doors. The one to the left and straight ahead I don't know where they went and the door/window to the right was the office. What I felt when I walked in was what you see in the movies where there is the worst flea bag dump. Old & dilapidated would be adequate words to describe the situation. Here are the signs that were posted outside the office window in numerous places around the window (as if one sign wasn't sufficient): NO SMOKING NO VISITORS (No one allowed to visit you) NO PETS NO REFUNDS AFTER CHECK IN (how can security deposits be refunded if there are no refunds after check in?) Basically, I would describe the man that we dealt with as being 50ish, evasive and apathetic. The building that is the motel looks as if it were built back in the 40's and hasn't been upgraded since. I would hate to see the rooms. I'm glad we didn't go in them, no telling what we would have caught. I am guessing based on what I experienced first hand, my gut feeling and the overall look of the property is that it caters to three types of clientèle - prostitutes, druggies and drunks. My question is - how do drunks and druggies have $400-500 dollars to stay one week? Prostitutes, I can understand, but the others? They have no money. Stay at your own risk.

I was sceptical because of the low price, but the owners/staff are so pleasant and kind, the property is quiet and peaceful. A tad outdated room, but worth it!
