New Haven Inn - Hotel in Solvang - 271 Alisal Rd, USA

First, the good things. This is a quaint place, quite in keeping with the Solvang vibe. The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. There's free parking on-site. What kept my rating low was the fact that our room (#3) was very small...barely enough space for a queen bed, two side tables, and a dresser. Since the room is assigned when you arrive, be sure to enquire about your options if you're able to talk to an attendant. Second, I could hear the footsteps of my upstairs neighbors when they came in at 11 pm. In fairness, I did request a downstairs room to avoid lugging our suitcases upstairs; again, something to consider when requesting a room. Finally, much of the check-in/check-out process is automated (via your cell phone). This may be daunting if you encounter a glitch, as I did, and it seems a bit impersonal. I expected an inn to have an innkeeper. In any event, I was able to work with the part-time attendant who's there during afternoons and early evenings. He was very personable and helpful.

We found this quaint hotel on a whim when we decided to spend a night in Solvang on our road trip. The hotel is adorable. We stayed in an upstairs king room, and we could have easily made it a multi-night stay. The bed was so comfortable. The walk-in shower was lovely. Room was beautifully updated. My only complaint was the lack of soap bars (only hand soap) so bring your own if you have sensitive skin. Would definitely stay here again.

Wow, I am so pleased with our stay! First off, the staff in the office was so nice. When we got there, he really took his time in giving us recommends on things to do in Solvang. The room itself is so nice. It’s nice and easy checking in online. The fire pit outside is a nice touch! And I loved the inside! The mirror was my favorite. It’s a vanity mirror that changed color! OMG. I love how they have the shampoo/conditioner, and body wash mounted to the wall. So fancy. Honestly, this was a great place to stay. Helpful, Neat, Easy and close to solvang so you can walk from the hotel.

What a great stay. This place is a short walk to restaurants and bakeries. They have a great farmers market on Wednesday afternoons. The hotel was so clean. Beautiful comfortable king bed. The description stated it had been renovated in 2015, but our room, #11, looked like the redo was so much more recent. The town shuts down pretty early, so even though our room was right on the street, it was quiet. The only “terrible” thing was that they don’t provide hand lotion. Warning also, the bed is fairly tall. I’d stay there again, in a heartbeat, if I was visiting Solvang.

What a little gem I found! A great little cottage style hotel, al though I wouldn't really call it a hotel or a motel because its quite cozy, quaint and very comfortable. My husband and I visit Solvang and the wine country about twice a year and have stayed in several different hotels in the Solvang area. This has been the most enjoyable thus far. The room was clean, updated with a very comfortable king size bed and great sitting area so you don't just have to sit on the bed to relax. Towels were soft and the shower was huge with two shower heads! Coffee, fridge and microwave in room were nice amenities. Perfect walking distance to downtown Solvang without having to endure traffic or pedestrian noise in our room. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone wanting to stay in Solvang.

What a great place to stay in Solvang. Why? Because it is about two blocks from the hustle and bustle of a heavily touristed downtown, so you can walk there easily while at the same time staying in a place of respite. The rooms can only be described as comfortable, quaint, and much loved by the owners. Stay here if you want to easily enjoy Solvang while at the same time enjoying the experience of a well loved inn.

Cute little place!! We went for the Solvang Days Danish Festival and the inn was walking distance to the heart of the festival with plenty of parking available. Our room was cute, cozy and clean. Checking in and out was easy .....I liked the contactless check-in and check-out. The couch in the front room was a little worn, but the couch was still comfy to sit on. I liked the fact that there was a mini-fridge to store our drinks and they had cute little snacks available for purchase. Would definitely recommend this place and would stay here again!

Easy check-in. Room was immaculate and modern. Quiet setting. Beds were very comfortable. Would have rated it a five star except the bath tub drain mechanism would not allow taking a bath (would not retain water); shower taking was fine.
