Absolutely loved visiting. Staff was super knowledgeable. Restrooms available and a vending machine for drinks. Pets are allowed as long as leashes but NOT allowed inside buildings. Beautiful area. Also as a side note yearly passes are available (for up to 4 people) for 85.00, if a history buff like myself totally recommend the purchase as they are good for most sites in GA., the staff will let you know where! Admission price is 8 per adult children under 5 free, a discount for seniors was available (62+ yrs old) but don't recall price for seniors or kids over 5, I think 4 dollars but not sure.
Very well kept historical site. Staff was very informative and helpful. We were headed to another state park, when we passed by then turned around with the idea that we would stay for 15 to 20 minutes if we did not find interesting. Well we stayed for 3+ hours... we totally enjoyed the site, information, learning more about the Cherokee people, walking in nature and again the staff were 5 stars...
As a former middle school teacher, I can say with authority that Cole’s guided tour of the historic site was the most educational and entertaining I’ve ever experienced on a field trip. Highly recommend!
The park ranger at the front informed us about why we have to pay the fee for entry. I do believe it is worth it. Even though we did not tour the buildings on the outside of the visitor center (due to rain)inside offered a wealth of information. Beautiful displays as well as a ton of actual incredible relics, artifacts, and information.
A very underappreciated historical site for sure. I do wish they had had access to the river so you could see the fairy that used to be in this area, but an excellent visitor center.
Great place to spend a fall weekend catching up on history. Watch the movie first to get a better understanding before going on the tour.
Highly recommend visiting this historical site. It is beautiful and our guide Kevin did such an incredible job with our bunch of young kiddos aged 7 and under. We had so much fun!!
So much better than we ever expected! Watch the 15 minute film first to get background information. Lots of information and artifacts in the small museum. Had an extremely knowledgeable tour guide (David) who explained the Cherokee nation way of life, how this town evolved over time, and what changed, all the way through the lots of lands being auctioned off. Saw a printing press in use, looked down a well, walked through the houses, it was very immersive. Also, lots of blue bird houses and beautiful grounds!
Had a great visit to this historic Cherokee site. Good small museum and film. The buildings were really interesting. The park ranger was great and answered all our questions, very knowledgeable and helpful.

I stopped here for lunch on the way to Chattanooga. I always like mom n pop places and Yellow Jacket did not disappoint! The servers are kind, attentive, and friendly, and knew all of the locals who came in by name! The restaurant was clean.

We love going for walks and bike rides out to the park. Grass and trail is always well kept and maintained. We always find interesting birds and bugs on the trail.
I'm never disappointed with Big John's. I'm either there for breakfast with my buddies from high school (maybe every 2 or 3 months), or calling in to pick up a jumbo bacon cheeseburger plate with fries and slaw (maybe every couple of months). Their g
Classy, great decor, awesome service and excellent food. She had fish tacos and we both thought they were the best we've had to date from any restaurant. I had the chicken fried chicken and it was the same level of quality, flavor, and presentation.
We stopped on our way to Elijay to get some tacos.
They make great tacos, authentic Mexican flavor and big portions.
Highly recommend if you are in town.
