We were lucky enough to catch the Jerry Weldon Sextet a this venue in the smaller of the two theaters. I was taking photos at the event so I wound up exploring every area including the upstairs balcony and the sound was excellent everywhere! That's not always the case, oftentimes sound is good on the ground floor but poor as you move back or sit up on the balcony (Count Basie for example). It's not an old venue so the feeling is more modern as opposed to theaters built 100 years ago but all the boxes were checked. Friendly staff, comfortable seats, great sound and not a bad seat in the house!
This is the first time we have been at the New Brunswick performing arts center and it will not be the last. What an amazing venue! Every seat in the house is the best seat in the house. New Brunswick is very fortunate to have such a great venue.
Great place to see a show! Nice sound system and seating to view the entire stage intimately. Right next to the State theater in the heart of New Brunswick.
A beautiful, intimate space in the NBPAC. I went to see my friends kill it in Having Our Say. A wonderful performance. The one thing I will make note of is that I could hear the performance of another show happening in the other theater in the Center. There are 3 theaters in this center, at least on the level I was on. Don't know if there were any more. The soundproofing wasn't that great. The show I went to see was intimate and quiet compared to the rock and roll revival of some sort going on in the next space, so the sound bled into the theater I was in. That may be something that is taken into more consideration when programming shows in this space. It pulled audience members out of the experience. I was drawn back into the performances by the consummate professionals on stage, but I'm sure they had to work harder to stay in it as they had unintentional competition to contend with.
It was a pleasant experience on my first visit to the venue. I was surprised how close the venue is to the railroad station and ease of travel via NJT from Philly. Also an impressive theatre plus my own sippy cup of wine.
What a wonderful play, Having Our Say. A true story about two sisters who live to be more than 100 years old. We were honored to sit next to their descendants. The set was well designed by a recent college graduate from a HBCU. I had read their book many years ago so it was nice to see it in play format.
It has two terrific theaters, which are great for viewing shows. The area is surrounded by very good restaurants with a large variety of cuisines. The only real downside of this theater, is a lack of free parking.
Beautiful venue! Saw "Tales From the Guttenberg Bible" in the Arthur Laurents Theater, and the 50th anniversary of Jesus Christ Superstar in the Elizabeth Ross Johnson Theater. Great views from all seats, very comfortable.

I've been going here for a while. Best Poke in New Brunswick! I was in San Francisco last summer and I had poke over there. It didn't compare to Poke Nagomi right here in New Brunswick.
Had a blast seeing Jason Cheny with friends and family for my birthday. The food and service were both good and the venue is pretty cool. I would definitely go back again. It was exciting to be in a place where so many famous comedians have performed
