What an awesome relaxing experience. It is great that our democratic Socialism of America provides and preserves our land and history and allows all yo experience at no charge. I visited it with a friend who told his story of enjoying it for the first time at 9 years old and now 30. Heartlifting

Big playground,swing set,picnic benches,and across the way is a small nature center with animals and it has a accessible bathrooms and across from that is a science center

Great little museum for kids to learn, explore and play. It's a regular visit for my family, especially since it's absolutely free! The staff were helpful and pleasant. It's not the most clean environment, but you can't expect it to be tip-top shape since it's for kids and everything is hands-on. Overall, I would recommend it to anyone with kids, age toddler and up.

Super cool place right on the river. It has a huge play ground open to the public. We went after closing so only the playground was open. There was people fishing in the river and the said they were catching catfish. We saw 3 birds in enclosures and a rock climbing wall. There is also a campground. Can't wait to go back during the day and check it all out.

Very clean very pretty love the animals and science lab is cool and fun love the pounds great fishing you can go fishing every day nice shade from the trees you can fish even when the building is closed as long as you have your fishing license nice place to have birthday party's and cook outs they rent RV spots for camping really nice place to bring family and friends beautiful nature the restrooms are nice even have showers in them for the campers I'm not sure if they swim there but just might can but I'd check that out first big park for children to play in nice place to go walking for exercising just a really cool fun family and friends place to come to . Awesome place for the kids and we felt great about donating to the cause. I did feel really bad for some of the animals though. The injured birds specifically. There is zero enrichment for all three of them (barred owl, red tail hawk and a black vulture) their cages are so small and a bird that size needs room. Even if they can't fly. It's hard to believe a licensed sanctuary/REHAB let those animals go to those depressing conditions. I really hope there is a larger separate cage somewhere and they are moved back and forth. Even the cockatoo was showing repetitive behaviors and staff said he loved to bite and destroy things.

Nice peaceful park, well managed, with plenty to do!

We came in a group of 14 RVs that needed someplace to live while helping with disaster relief after Hurricane Florence. They accommodated all of us. Seven of us got the full hook up sites and the rest are waiting for the necessary repairs from the flooding. We are very thankful for the hospitality and affordable rates while we are away from home helping others.
