Is been a long time since I’ve had stay at Neptunes but let me tell you something about this place it’s really nice, clean and extremely accessible, just a 20 to 30 minutes drive to any city around the bay, 15 without traffic, did I mention is close to the alameda beach shore ?? Very accessible with transportation, airport, plenty street parking, grocery stores about a block away and plenty of restaurants. Owners are always on top of this location and keep the areas clean. I highly recommend to check it out.
Great place to stay! The owner Steve was excellent to work with and cares about his property. The location of Neptune Palace is perfect there are stores and restaurants right next door, along with a bus stop across the street and a short walk to Alameda College. Yes, this place is older but the rooms are nice and quiet with new carpet and paint. My room had a mirror and a sink along with a window view to Webster street. The showers and bathrooms are shared. Within my 8 months at this location I never had an issue with the restrooms or showers being full or dirty. The second level shower and bathrooms have just been renovated and are very nice. Both showers, bathrooms, and hallway carpets are cleaned every two days. Parking is meter only except Sundays, it is best to park off of Webster street a short walk to Neptune Palace. I would recommend this property to anyone trying to live in the Alameda area.
Before I relocated to another city, I lived at the Neptune Palace Hotel in Alameda for a total of 11 months. I loved it there; the place was clean, convenient and extremely affordable. Steve Case, the owner/manager, is a great person who really cares about his property and his tenants. The remodel of the first floor bath is really nice. My neighbors were friendly and quiet. I would recommend this place to anyone, and I would not hesitate to go back if the need arose.
This was perfect for what I needed.
I was there for a little over a year while finishing school- it was nice for the time being.
I felt safe because of all the cameras. The place has a full-time person to come in and clean the bathrooms, take out the trash, and such.
The owner is around often to make sure things are running smoothly.
Never really ran into issues with using the showers or bathrooms.
All the neighbors kept to themselves; I have never had my mail or packages stolen.
The Farmers Market is around the building on Tuesdays and Saturdays. Walking distance to the grocery store, Walgreens, Starbucks, fast foods, and decent restaurants on Webster St.
Bus stops and casual carpools are within 2 minutes of walking.
No Kitchen, but with all the food options nearby- I didn't really need one. I had a Mini-fridge, and microwave - Worked out fine for me.
I lived here for over a year and it suited me well. It’s cute and in a location close to food, restaurants, bars, buses. The bathrooms are shared but cleaned regularly, the people in the neighboring rooms are quiet and polite. The owners are very responsive and quick to resolve anything that comes up. If you are looking for month to month accommodation I recommend trying here.
Until recently I lived at The Neptune Palace for just over 2 months. I enjoyed the experience and highly recommend it. At first there was a little trepidation what I would find there, but the owner is very discerning about prospective tenants so I found myself living with a great community of people. The owner cares a lot about this historic building, and is always improving it. The bathrooms on the 2nd floor have recently been tastefully remodelled. and the so called safety issues, as implied by another reviewer, do not exist.
I would have absolutely no problem in going back should the need arise.
The Neptune Palace Hotel is awesome! I really enjoyed my time here and would highly reccomend it to anyone seeking a clean, reasonably priced room for rent in a historic building in a convenient location (right on Webster St in the West End of Alameda!) Close to shops, restaurants, grocery stores, and bus lines that can get you to Oakland in 10 minutes, BART or any other transportation connection quickly, the location could not be better. The beach is a ten minute walk away as well. The NP is run by a friendly and professional landlord/owner Steve and his son Chris- both very accessible and helpful. The shared bathrooms and showers are cleaned daily and I have never had any issue with noise or neighbors. Five out of five stars- cheers!
This building is in need of painting and repairs. However, The manager, Mr. Steve Case is selective about tenants. This is a QUIET, clean and safe place to live.
Common area rugs, bathrooms and showers are thoroughly cleaned every 2 - 3 days. Garbage is also collected every 2 - 3 days.
No violence in the hallways, or while trying to enter at the front door. For this area the rent is lower then many similar buildings.
Everything in my room has always been fixed when needed. I have lived here for 15 years. Whenever I have had something go wrong in my room, Steve always returns my calls and the item is fixed as soon as possible.
Tenants live on 2nd and 3rd floors. there is 1 bathroom and shower on the 2nd floor, but 2 bathrooms and a shower on the 3rd floor. I have always been able to take a shower within a reasonable wait time. We have plentiful hot water for the showers also.
I was eating across the street and noticed Pinball Museum sign. I'm always very curious, so I walked in and was blown away.
More than what I imagined. Cashier explained everything in detail and broke down pricing and gave me a brief description and
Very unique old school video arcade located in Alameda's busiest commercial district. Pay for unlimited plays for a certain amount of time.
Decent selection of games range from the oldies like centipede and Pac-Man and Tron up to somewhere more mode
The drip coffee was bold and had good flavor. My wife liked her matcha latte. We also had an Ube Mochi cake which was amazing. The staff were friendly and quick. Iâll be coming back here.
Hidden gem in Alameda! Or maybe itâs not a hidden gem, and everyone knows this place. Regardless, all the dishes that we ordered were really good.
- Basil fried rice (super fragrant)
- BBQ lemongrass pork ribs (fall off the bone tender)
- Stuffed c
My partner and I stopped in here for a light dinner. We had a few cocktails and tried the charcuterie board and Margarita flatbread pizza. We really enjoyed everything we tried and had an amazing night. We will definitely be coming back here for date
Great variety of local beers on tap ranging from juicy IPAs to malt-forward stouts, all made with Admiral Maltings' malted grain. They even had local whiskies made with their malts, (will have to try those next time), and they offer tours of their fa
Nice and cool area with the breeze from the bay air. Perfect place for large and small dogs. Pretty bustling on the weekends with so many pups playing. There's always a trashcan within and reach to drop off the dookies.
