Always wanted to go here and finally went a few years ago when i moved close to the area.
It was a great experience for me and the missus! Decent sized museum- takes 1-2 hours to walkthrough.
My favorites were the photo books of agents (saw some familiar people), class flags, and the shooting trophies donated by the pistoleros.
Great gift store.
I want to go back.
An excellent and unique museum. It is a non profit run by volunteers and takes no tax or government money. The exhibits are unique and tell compelling stories. Our country is special and people without hope at home will try almost anything to make a home in the US. The Border Patrol works hard to keep things in check and as safe as possible.
I stopped in here to see how my tax dollars were being wasted, but i was floored that this is all donation run and it is an AMAZING amount of learning packed into a little building! Not just about the border with Mexico, but also Canada and beyond. A lot of great exhibits and donated items from agents, cars, helicopter, plane! I have recommended this place to many people now! Amazing stop on a cross country trip!
This free museum tells the history of the Border Patrol and exhibits vehicles used by both BP and smugglers. Although the exhibits could stand some updates and professionalization, I always enjoy taking friends who come to visit. It's an important part of the picture of the border community.
What a wonderful hidden gem!! We learned so much about the history or the Boarder Patrol. Grateful to the men and women who protect our borders and look out for America. Learn about the animals that serve as well. This museum is free to tour, but donations are appreciated! The attendants are always willing to answer any questions and are very informative.
A must add on your visit to El Paso!!
Visited from Vancouver, Canada. Great tour of the museum.
Had an amazing stop here after driving by the Franklin mountains..Alot of history here and very educational. Nice and friendly staff as well. Very knowledgeable..I just wish gift shop was open..It was closed due to inventory that day.Other than that nice visit..I totally recommend..
Great little free museum. They have several displays both inside and outside showcasing the history of the United States Border Patrol. Admission is free, but donations are accepted. They have displays showing vehicles, uniforms, equipment and various other pieces of the Border Patrol. This is a sure fire way to learn something new and get out of the heat for a couple of hours. Perfect for all ages!
