This paved trail is smooth and flat, great for walking and moderate biking. It goes through pretty woods and along the river. Very nice! My husband and I rode the north 5 miles on bikes in July- it was hot but shady. At the little town of Pepperell there was a bench, a bike rack, some tools and air for tires. Port-a-potties at the trailhead parking lot. Enjoy!
The trail is now open all the way to Ayer. A couple of areas where it was a little muddy, but not anything you couldn't bummer through. A little short on parking on a nice weekend day. But it's great that they have a couple of port-a-potties. The trail itself is very nice. Views of the river, farms, and wetlands. Not too many street crossings.
Walked the train with our dog it was quite nice. Saw a Blue Heron.

This place is so cool!! We rode about 7 miles of this trail and it's really nice. Great scenery and nearly 100% tree canopy. I wish it went into Nashua more.
We e-bikes this trail going south all the way to Ayer. It's a beautiful ride through Pepperell and Groton. There are some side trails near the Nashua River that are awesome as well.

nice trails, beautiful little pond, really nice area to walk around with the kids and the dog and there's plenty of parking. just be mindful of tics in the tall grass. 🧐
