Mustang Motel - Motel in Gillette - 922 E 3rd St, USA

Was a great rate, and really wasn’t the worst room motel we did on our trip. Rooms were clean and well taken care of. Cons would have to be the fact there’s only 14 local channels that are barely visible and also the bed broke all 5 of ours backs. Good local food available, loud busy sky ramp flows over it so can be some noise but manageable. Non smoking room was also smoked in at some point but the other room that was with us had a smoking and it was like nobody else ever tried doing something for the smell. Definitely not the worst place I’ve been to.

I would give 10 stars if I could. The owner is an amazing sweet old man! He really works with you and tries to understand the situation your in. The rooms are quiet, cozy and comfortable and you know your stuff isn't being vandalized or broken into. I could not be more pleased with the owners hospitality when we were in need of an emergency room. I recommend this place to anyone going through Gillette WY! Great prices and great coffee too!

Loved this place. Was there for a few weeks. Inexpensive, clean and friendly. They went out of their way to make sure we we happy, even if we got in late at night. If we needed anything, the front desk took care of it right away. I worked nights for a week and they always check if I needed room service before coming by as to not disturb me. I would definitely stay here again if given the opportunity.

so the ice machine is broken.. they treat every guest coming in like a terrorist and are very rude.. way over priced and there is some horrible abomination under the AC.. oh and TONS of flies.. i wouldnt recommend this place to a single soul.. only here because of circumstance and regret it.. what a damn joke

This place charged $175 for a very sub-standard room. The bed was terrible. We could feel the individual springs poking our backs. It was one of those cheap mattresses that noone buys. We ended up leaving because there was so much pet dander that I couldn't stay. The bathroom is OK if you don't look below waist level and if you are prepared to get off the toilet to reach the toilet paper. There are many rooms in Gillette for the same price that are much nicer.

I just want to say that the Mustang Motel is a diamond in the rough. As others have stated, the staff is simply the best. I received a call from the front desk shortly after cheking in to make sure I was satisfied with the room. This was a nice touch.||||I stayed on a near zero degree night in January and was concerned about the heat issue mentioned in a previous review. The price was right, so I gave them a shot. I'm happy to report that not only did the heat work, the room was quite toasty and I even turned the heat down a little.||||I don't normally take the time to write reviews, but this family owned motel is an excellent bang for your buck! I'll gladly give them my business again anytime I'm in Gillette.

This is one of those instances when you really wish that the hotel owners could get a subsidized small business grant to make a go of it. We reserved a room there as it was locally owned and the reviews said that the owners were really nice. We were only sleeping the night and travelling on, so other amenities like a pool weren't on our list. Unfortunately, it was one of the worst night's sleep we've ever had in a hotel room. The weather had turned cold and nasty getting there, and the parking lot was slippery and tricky. We checked into the room and it was very cold. We turned on the heater, and it was so loud it sounded like someone was running a tractor-trailer inside our room, and it didn't really warm up. We called the room for extra blankets, and it took a while, but they came to our door with a couple of those fleece blankets like you see hanging in parking lots and fairs for sale. We had our lab with us, and we all ended up buried in the bed, shivering all night. We aren't spoiled & used to a warm room,either. ||We keep our house at 60 in the cold months, and this was way colder than that. We ended up turning the heater off because it was so loud and wasn't really making much heat anyhow. In the morning, the bathroom was on the windy side of the room, and was well under 50 degrees. That was a chilly shower. I hope they can fix things up more. They were very nice and helpful people, and I'm always routing for the local businesses, but we won't be staying there unless we don't need heat. They did charge a pet fee of $5.00, which isn't much, but it makes the rooms more expensive than motel 6, which would have had heat.

It was fine for the price, but our nonsmoking room smelled like smoke, and the floors aren't carpeted. On the plus side, we got lost trying to find the place and the owner drove to where we were so we could follow him back. I thought that was pretty cool.
