Great place to walk the dogs and enjoy nature! They have a pavilion, various picnic tables, various benches, various garbage cans, port-a-potty’s (including some handicap accessible on a cement slab), 2 outlook towers, boardwalks, various fishing spots, free entry (donation box at trail entrance) free parking for about 10-20 cars.
Cute boardwalk with places to stop and do some fishing! Great place to see the blooming fall colors with your family.
Great place to fish if you know how to deal with weeds and the trees, but one thing i gotta ask, because i love night fishing, but is the 1030 close time just for the parking lot? Or could i walk onto the boardwalk from the other way and fish there into the night?
We love natures and this place is really nice for walking, fishing, biking. Love watching the birds and turtles.
The paved flat path here is really nice. There are a couple of little rustic trail offshoots that offer fishing access on the water and the main path has access two different entrances to the boardwalk. The boardwalk is definitely suffering from the flooding in the area but when the multiple boardwalks are accessible there are a variety of fishing decks. The property offers two different look out decks that give nice views of the lake. It is a small to medium size preserve that feels safe to use as it is well loved and has medium foot traffic. Update: the renovations are just wonderful and the boardwalk got the attention that it needed. Amenities: Primitive kayak launch Bike staging area Free parking (large dirt lot) Near the main lakeshore bike path Picnic tables+pavillion Look out decks Trash cans One porta potty(?) Plenty of benches Fishing decks Paved path/rustic paths/boardwalks Dogs are welcome
This is easily one of my personal favorite walking spots in Muskegon. We take our dogs here all the time and love it. The boardwalk is great, paths are always well taken care of, we can't say enough good things about this hidden gem!
Even more beautiful in the snow. 11/1/23
Lovely place to walk the dog and take in the lake view. Out local conservation folks have done a wonderful job planting native flowers grass and trees. If you don't see a turtle on a log, an egret or muskrat on your walk I'd be surprised
