I've been coming to Mushin since June last year and I am super grateful for this gym. Brian, Brandon and all the coaches do an incredible job at teaching the importance of discipline and respect. They give you the "why" behind why we learn certain moves and how to apply what you learn in self defense situations. They also wack you with pool noodles to help you learn to keep your hands up. (LOL all in good fun, doesn't hurt 😉) This gym has made a huge positive impact in my life, health, and overall confidence. I appreciate you guys!!
I love the training methods of Mushin. The instructors there take a great deal of pride in the quality of their instruction. I have been training with Mushin for a few years and respect the fact that the instructors make sure to always further their knowledge by participating in seminars themselves as well as bringing people into Utah to host seminars here for their students. I also have registered my 11 year old in the kids class and he has a ton of fun while learning discipline, respect, and self defense.
If you or your kid is wanting to join a true martial arts gym, Mushin is highly recommended!
I can’t say enough good things about Mushin Self Defense! We had my very anxious son start here to help him build confidence, and that’s exactly what happened. My son is a totally different kid. Brian and the other instructors work hard to help these kids be good, kind, and respectful human beings. What I appreciate most is that they hold kids accountable and the kids learn that hard work really does make them better. They don’t just hand out belt promotions, but make the kids earn them. My son is so proud of himself any time he promotes because he knows he EARNED it. It wasn’t an easy start for my son, but the guidance he receives helps him grow and become stronger inside and out.
This is a wonderful program for youth MMA! Sensei Brian is really good with the kids, holding high expectations, yet showing each individual he cares about their success. Our 5-year-old has loved Mushin! The ratio of instructor to student was about 1:3 on the average week which allows for much more personalized instruction and extra reps and practice. We're really grateful we found this place!
Three of my children are currently enrolled at Mushin and they love it! They learn more than just martial arts. They learn respect, discipline, and self-control. Brian and his team know how to bring out the best in my kids (two sons and a daughter). I can't recommend them enough!
Our children started classes at Mushin years ago and continue to love it. They challenged me to try the women's self defense class just once, and now I'm going on three years. Wonderful instructors and incredible classmates make this a can't-miss gym. Our family now has opted for private lessons during the pandemic to keep up our skills.
If you're on the fence about martial arts, jump down and get over here!
My son and I each take a class and both love it. He is confident, loves his instructor, and assistants. He is learning more discipline, respect, and is constantly improving his skills.
In two years we have both come a long way and as a woman it has helped me to feel like I am gaining skills that will help me if I’m ever in a situation where I may need them. These are useful skills we all need.
I wanted a place that felt like a family and Mushin is definitely what I was looking for.
I have had my boys at 3 different Karate studios, ( including Kona) and this place is by far my favorite. It’s the when my son was in kindergarten he had a rough year and this place was really good for him. Brian knows how to make it fun as well as teaching them respect and listening. The older kids that help him are great and I feel like all the kids get equal attention. He is great at talking them through emotions as well. This place is very worth it and it the only studio that my kids enjoyed learning karate. Brian is patient, encouraging and so great with the kids.

I do not own a Handi Quilter machine but family was in town that does, so we stopped by. Oh my goodness! They gave us a tour and were SO friendly!! I've always wanted a long arm machine and when I can get one, Handi Quilter is top of my list! Thanks,

We were searching for something local to take to a family reunion out of state and remembered this gem. Their chocolate is delicious with a lot of options to chose from in the front store.
The ice cream is good. I wouldnât classify it as anything
Visiting Salt Lake City and found an amazing truck stop diner. Itâs in an industrial truck and railroad area behind the refineries. Itâs a strange spot but wow the food and service is excellent!! Itâs a no nonsense restaurant and the SCONES!

10/10. Words cannot describe the amazing experience we had. I couldnât believe the level of service and the quality of food that was delivered. We felt at home. Every dish left a strong impression. Starting off with the egg rolls, they were crunchy
The Katsu chicken was great! Mac salad was really good! The guava cake was awesome! I thought this place was new to the Davis area, but apparently it relocated from Bountiful. My family really loved it, but it also was similar to a lot of the Haw
Great Park to have a family party at, we reserved the Bowery through the North Salt Lake City website for $35, and there was a $50 deposit if you didn't clean up after yourself that's refundable. Making reservations was very easy and we had a great
