Great little local museum. Well set up in the basement of the Tabernacle. It was interesting to learn about the Teton dam and to see all the history they've accumulated. Well worth a visit.
The staff were super friendly. Video is worth the time. Big variety of pioneer, lifestyle, military, flood, etc.
One of Rexburg’s finest landmarks is the Rexburg Stake Tabernacle, a Romanesque Revival building from 1911.
This was the tabernacle for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints before being sold off to the city in 1980.
In the basement is a museum for the Upper Snake River Historical Society, with a major exhibit about the devastating Teton Dam collapse of 1976, which left Rexburg underwater and resulted in the deaths of 11 people and the loss of 13,000 cattle.
The total damage estimates are $2 billion and the dam has never been reconstructed. You’ll see a line on the wall marking the high water mark as well as interesting artifacts from the event and the remarkable reconstruction of the city.
Also here is an old-fashioned one-room schoolhouse, home to the Rexburg Children’s Museum, which has lots of interactive displays and activities for kids.
We came to buy the Darth Tater t-shirts from the gift shop. What we saw of the museum looked intriguing. Reasonable price.
We went to the Quilt Show put on by the Museum of Rexburg. The quilts on display were not only beautiful but had almost every stitch exquisitely done by hand. The exhibit showcased both very old quilts, newer quilts, and hand irons through the ages. We had a wonderful adventure and the quilts were amazing.
The history of the Teton dam disaster is interesting. The rest of the museum is standard county museum stuff .
Amazing little museum! Very friendly and helpful staff and they even have little scavenger hunt games you can play and a documentary on the Teton Dam flood. 10/10 would recommend!
Unexpected surprise air museum in Rexburg, many flight worthy aircraft and an amazing collection of historic military items. Saturdays only when we were there
This was by far THE BEST BBQ I've had in Idaho! Thick cut brisket mixed with delicious homemade sauces! Flavor was perfection. The owner Aaron takes pride in his work and it shows in the product!! Definitely became my favorite after one bite!
We had the BEST time as a family driving through the reserve. Itâs conveniently located, easy to find and access. The variety of foxes was astounding, some being the last of their kind globally. The wolves and bears were so close to our car but wer
It was super fun. The staff was super nice especially Riley and Hayden. (I hope thatâs their names). They gave us special tips on how to throw and gave us special weapons to throw. 10/10 experience would totally recommend to anyone thatâs wants a
The Emfield family is the best family to learn Jiu-jitsu from! They are kind and know what they are doing. If you are a beginner, you could not ask for a better team to teach you.
The place is the real deal and is our go-to spot when we're passing through the area. Prices are great. Toppings are top notch. Crust is AMAZING. Everything is made to order in their wood burning oven. the dessert pizzas are unreal... Also, as if the
Cute store. Vendors sell their products at prices that they set. It functions like a physical Facebook marketplace, and is significantly more effective than the online alternative. I will definitely be checking back in regularly as product turns o
