Murphy's used to be a reliable and comfortable place for my informal business meetings, with a good reputation for service and quality as a nice neighborhood bar. They have become an overpriced tourist trap, gouging all customers with nine dollar shots. - nine dollars, for bourbon.. I was one of their most loyal customers. They have gone full mercenary. I am sadly astonished at the loss of this good place for me and my company. Bugee the bartender remains the best thing about the place, but their inveterate tourist profiteering has robbed them of their status as any sort of a local or neighborhood bar. Sad for Galveston..
Awesome service and great selection of beers as well as pizzas. Live band every Saturday @9.
Used to be a great atmosphere. But all the good bartenders left. Not sure if they took the good times with them or nah. But I know it's better to just go to O' Malley's.
No Montucky cold snacks and no darts - great staff I heard the food was good? It was probably an off day but like many Galveston haunts when I left I felt like it could be better- that being said like most of Galveston it's what you make of it..now go and enjoy
It's no longer Murphy's pub. It is now Doc Holliday's. Food was good, service and atmosphere were also good. Something I liked about the place, the play Tombstone on a TV all the time. Would definitely recommend this place and will go back when in the area.
Pizza was great (white and carnivore). The crust was really good.
It's been quite some time since my wife and I have been in a bar together, so we checked out a few places before we settled into Murphy's Irish Pub.
Lillian, the bartender, was such a charming character! My wife and I loved conversing with her! We ordered pretzels and a white pizza that my wife raved about. We essentially asked her to surprise us whenever we asked for drinks. With the plethora of bottles at her disposal, she certainly did deliver! Between Lillian, some of the locals and a couple of excellent gents from Germany (the pilot & the electrician) it was a great atmosphere that made for a memorable night!
Boujies wings are AWESOME!! He is an awesome bartender! So welcoming, accommodating and knowledgeable about making different cocktails. A definite must visit on his shift 🖤🖤🖤
