Make sure you have booked one-hour timed slots online for 2$. You are allowed to book up-to two slots per day. I would start early as this can get crowded easily. The hike uphill is pretty steep and not for everyone. But the views are worth it. The main loop circles around the river. There are clear signs everywhere.
Highly recommended. This is a beautiful spot just outside portland. Beautiful views of the gorge from the top of the falls. It is a fairly aggressive uphill hike but the views are well worth it at the top. Make sure to get there early as it gets busy. Also make sure to reserve your pass in advanve from recreation.gov. This hike is mostly in shade in the morning which is nice in the house months.
Best to start early for this one. There are several choices when it comes to trails and they are all well marked with maps along the way showing your progression. The main loop takes you along the river and back around with so many beautiful views along the way, even on a rainy day!
It is mostly up hill on un-even terrain with no safety rails. Prepare for full sun or rain with wind. Footwear ankle support recommended. It poured the whole way up and I still had fun.
Be prepared to get your steps in, great photo spots, and a bit of an adventure it was still icy out so I’m glad I wore proper shoes.
Very steep trail with 11 switchbacks to the top of Multonomah Falls viewpoint. There are no guard rails and if you fall, you will get injured. Boots recommended. Very muddy after it rains. Once you reach the top viewpoint, keep going on this trail along Multonomah Creek to see 6 waterfalls in 1 mile. Once you reach Ecola Falls, turn around and hike back. I like this hike because as you ascend, the crowds get thinner and thinner. Not many people know about the 6 waterfalls that feed Multonomah Falls. The entire trail has sketchy drop offs so be careful before worrying about your phone! About 1000 feet elevation gain total in 3 miles. Enjoy!
this can be a beautiful yet strenuous hike but there are plenty of places to stop and catch your breath as you look crossed to the beautiful Columbia River as well as up the Columbia gorge. To pay off at the top is the view as well as seen the sunshine through the trees and the glistening Mist of the water can form a rainbow..
This is no easy hike. We were pressed for time, so this is as far as we made it. Only a portion of our party was able to continue from the bridge, but the view up here was incredible. I cannot imagine how beautiful the top of the falls must be.

Another beautiful waterfall along the gorge. Almost start to take them for granted, NOT! Very accessible, easy couple minute walk from the parking lot.
Great spot to check out. Definitely better flow in the rainy season. Easy to get to from the parking lot. There is a bathroom at the parking area. Please don't forget to pick up trash if you see it and make sure to throw yours away. Don't littler. Pr
This bridge let's you capture some amazing views! I'm not a huge fan of heights, so it was a quick walk to snap pics and get back off. Visitors: there is NOT a pedestrian lane or sidewalk. You are walking on the bridge with cars going both ways, pla
