Mugsy's On Main - Restaurant in Melbourne - 901 E New Haven Ave, USA

Stopped in for a drink and listen to live music. They have plenty of draft beers, so I ordered the local Intracoastal Brewing Dragon Point IPA. You can never go wrong with Intracoastal Brewing. My wife ordered the daily special, Cecil’s Cyclone. It was a tasty vodka drink that she enjoyed. With a full liquor bar, good service and lots of entertainment will ensure we’ll be back.

Hummmm.... The restaurant itself being split into two sides is a bit confusing. We went to the right side as that was the side that was open. We were there on a Tuesday evening, so we didn't expect this to be happening. There was one other family dining. The bartender was our server, and he was super prompt and friendly. Gave us some suggestions from the menu and then gave us some time to look it over. We chose the shrimp po boy and the burger. The po boy had 8 very good-sized lightly breaded shrimp on it with fresh toppings and a super fresh hoagie roll. The burger was hand pattied and probably one of THE best burgers I have ever had. Cooked and seasoned perfectly. It is served with chips, but I opted to upgrade to the Mac and cheese. The Mac n cheese was super fresh and like some places get super mushy if it's sitting there ... this was nothing like that. Fresh and had a great cheesy flavor to it. It's one of the best I've had out anywhere. Great place... great service...but they're gonna have to do something to draw people in to eat there if they are gonna hang in there with the other too places in downtown. Trying this place was definitely worth trying out a new place.

Mugsy’s Main Street Restaurant & Bar/Bonnie’s Prohibition Kitchen, Historic Downtown Melbourne, 901-903 E. New Haven Avenue, Melbourne, Florida 32901 4.4-Stars Embarking on my 6th year of unfettered restaurant reviews and having completed over 500 dining experiences, I have begun to get a Spidey sense about eating establishments. I supposed it is akin to spending time in any other field. Experience counts. I was fully enchanted by my experience at Mugsy's, but I got the feeling that whatever awesomeness is happening there may be fleeting. I hope I’m wrong. It might have been the seemingly unimportant but confusing things. For example, is the name, Mugsy’s? Mugsy’s Main Street? Mugsy’s on Main? Mugsy’s Restaurant & Bar? Mugsy’s on Main Neighborhood Bar? It is written several ways all on the same Webpage. Maybe they couldn’t decide, and maybe it doesn’t matter as they are reportedly changing the name to Bonnie’s Prohibition Kitchen anyway. Here is what I do know: I was on the Bonnie’s side, and ordered from the Bonnie’s Prohibition Kitchen menu, which was exciting. The food was excellent. The owner was amazing. The chef was badass. Cecil, our waiter, was dressed like a professional and acted like one, another entrant in the Big Boy Top 5 Brevard Waitstaff for Q2 of 2023. From the Handhelds section of Bonnie’s Prohibition Kitchen menu, I opted for Mugsy’s Cheesesteak. Absolutely incredible! An entire ribeye sliced, drenched with provolone cheese, sautéed peppers and onions, and coulis “mob sauce.” My next choice came from the Mob Fries section: Gorgonzola. These hand-cut fries were dusted with tasty Gorgonzola, chicken, blue cheese dressing, and a balsamic vinaigrette reduction. Amazing! Of the Shareables, I selected the Buffalo deviled eggs, which were panko-fried and mixed with a buffalo sauce filling. Although this appetizer was the weakest entry of the three, the deviled mixture was acute and flavorful. The question remains: Will Mugsy’s/Bonnie’s be a perdurable dining destination in Historic Downtown Melbourne? Or will it be like that time British biologist, Thomas Henry Huxley, discovered bathybius in a scoop of sea floor mud, and declared it to be the primordial source of all life on Earth, but it turned out to be just a gelatinous clump of calcium sulfate? The Big Boy says, “RUN, don’t walk, to try this food as they may not be here in six months.”

Bar staff are extremely good at what they do; professional, knowledgeable, and quick to ensure your glass is never empty. I look forward to visiting again.

Great great time when we went out! Friendly bar tenders, big dance floor, inside and outside seating, and the drinks were fairly priced! The music was amazing! Definitely a great choice of ours to go! Will definitely be returning and will tell my friends!

We did not order food. We were headed home and heard regatón playing so we stopped in and started dancing. This turned out to be a fun spot. I don’t know if the service was good or not but the bathrooms were clean and they had and blowing to cool the place off

They no longer have their own menu but serve a limited menu from next door at the new Mexican place. I am not a fan. The service was very slow once the bar got busy and I ended up going next door myself to order. That transaction was a mess in and of itself....and the food wasn't worth it .. 😞
