Skied here for the first time via IndyPass and loved it. Plenty of friendly folks from the ticket window right on over to the chairlift. The Lodge is a cozy A-frame built in 1959. Added on later are a a few unique appendages,namely the St. Bernard Room where a one can muse on a new pair of Bent Chetler 110s, St. Bernard himself or just simply what beer to order next....
As for the skiing itself, the chairlift speeds are what you'd expect for a classic midwest ski hill. No detachable, high-speed quads or fancy scan systems, just solid, keep er' moving lifts and runs for all types, ya know.
Anywhoo, get on over to the hill and get some turns in. You won't be disappointed.
Lift was closed before 8. No singles line. Terrain park is not maintained. Poor value for what you pay, one of the most expensive hills in the state. There are mountains with thousands of acres of skiing that charge less. Get way more for your money at granite peak where they put effort into improving year after year.
We went as a larger group for an outdoor adventure club through the Lacrosse Schools.
The staff was beyond helpful. Everyone had a great time, and can't wait to come back.
Great Midwestern ski area with a surprising number of runs packed into an almost bowl shaped hill. The lodge, bar and ski shop all have a vintage Nordic feel to them and the entire ski area has a Vermont-like vibe to it. Lift was $56 for the full day; neither cheap nor unreasonable. Overall, nice people here and a fun place to make some turns.
Was there in mid 70s, to visit a friend but he didn't ski. I was there practically by myself. Saw this post and had to say hi. Your so lucky. Why cus I live in Florida. Nice place.
We had our wedding over Labor Day weekend and we were so happy with Mt. La Crosse’s coordination efforts and staff that helped make our wedding day so memorable. Stopped in to the pro shop to pick up my son’s snowboard and was impressed with the selection they had. From equipment to clothing. Staff was friendly and knowledgeable and helpful. I can see why he likes to go there and snowboard.
