The hike up the mountain was strenuous at times. The path along the side before you finally reach the top is not for the faint of heart. One missed step or vertigo will send you down the mountain with no stopping for a thousand feet. At the top...exhilarating.
BEAUTIFUL!
If you plan on just driving up there, you still get an amazing view from the top! Park on the side of the road and walk to the edge to get the view 😎
For the hike, it was pretty rough. I would wait until the ice melts because that was extremely dangerous doing it. It's a steady incline all of the way up and it hardly flats out. The views from the top were gorgeous!
I recommend having good ice cleats and walking sticks if you're doing this in the winter! For the summer, enjoy the climb 😀
There is good and bad. First, this hike it is much steeper than people give credit for. It is not an just a good hike, but a strenuous climb up... you are huffing and puffing unless you are an avid hiker. BUT, the views are beautiful the whole way. My daughter and I didn't finish, but man the view was great. My husband and son did go the rest of the way up
The parking can be crazy crowded, especially for a narrow road on the edge of a mountain. The trail was very crowded when we went on a Saturday, but was helpful because the trail was not well marked. So many people have hiked this mountain that there were so many offshoots of paths. You aren't going to get lost, but you will not know which was is around, straight up, or the switchbacks. My husband who just has a natural compass built in him did fine, but I was completely clueless as to where to go. I had to stop and ask people several times.
So... yes beautiful. If you like steep hikes with lots of incline, you will like this. If you want solitude, don't go on a weekend. Parking stinks when busy, but you wont get lost.
Trails are visible, areas of ice but mostly accessible and easy to navigate. 2nd completion of this Flattop this year, beautiful scenery. God is good!
Great hike that has a few historic abandoned buildings along the way up. The view from the top is amazing.
Belle randonnée, nous a pris environ deux heures . Plusieurs sentiers se croisent des fois cest difficile de vraiment savoir c'est lequel. Quand même glissant quand c'est mouillé. Le sentier débute à droite du stationnement. Très beau sommet.
Went in off season. Difficult in the beginning for a flatlander I had to scramble to keep from falling/sliding down even with spikes, some kid went flying by lol. I made it out to the 5th peak (everyone else stopped on the first), there's a bit of a visual trick each one is much further with more up and down then you'd think. Very majestic. People slide down from the first peak and if you happen to have a garbage bag or a proper sled you pick up some serious speed, very fun. Saw lots of Bald eagles and a raven harassing them.
Beautiful views and easy to get to! Moderately difficult 3mi hike loop style.

I LOVED the many displays and touchable info. They were very specific to the park nature. Reading them before hiking helped make the hike better. A pleasant surprise was finish our hike just time for a wild food presentation. Thanjs!!!
Great porter with vanilla taste. Wine selection is small but quenching. Delicious beer along with the nachos from the food truck with extra spicy sauce. Yummy. Go early to get a seat.
Awesome place, came in for the first time yesterday to meet a friend. Drove from mid town Anchorage today for the customer service, coffee, and quiche!
Maddie's personality, friendly customer centric focus is beyond reproach. She made me feel like

Chepo's Mexican Restaurant in Eagle River is my go-to spot for a genuine and delectable Mexican eating experience. The warm and friendly ambiance upon entry sets the tone for a great meal.
The menu takes customers on a gastronomic trip through Mexic
We have only gone here for drinks and country night. Always been a good , drama free time. DJ is actually amazing! Good pool tables, (no chalk), and outside area for smokers. Drinks are great and they don't price gouge for "premium". A consistent go
