I will definitely not be returning to this establishment. I ordered the gumbo, which was decent and a shrimp salad. The salad was horrible... wilted lettuce no eggs. When I inquired about eggs, I was initially told that they had run out. Then I was told I would have to talk to the manager about adjusting the price. Miraculously, they found an egg in the cooler. I never received a sorry or an apology for the oversight. None of us finished our food, and the food was seriously overpriced... I rarely write reviews... shoukd have heeded my husbands concern about going ro a restaurant named after a horse. my advice.. don't visit!
Excellent fried chicken and fried oysters. Our waiter Jason was super friendly, and very helpful. When I couldn’t figure out what dressing to order with my oyster salad, he just brought both of them.
Specifics: this was our first visit to this Mr. Ed’s. Ambience is friendly and kind of dressy casual. We arrived just before 6 PM and we were able to get a seat on a Friday night: table for four.
Small family, gatherings, and date nights going on all around us . We had heard about the amazing fried chicken, and so started with a half chicken as our appetizer. Chicken arrived piping hot and it was amazingly delicious very flavorful. It was the right amount of crispy.
I loved the oyster salad with their homemade remoulade sauce. Grilled redfish over étouffée - redfish, Amanda- but the consensus is that it was a four-star dish. The shepherds pie was served piping hot, but only consisted of meat and potatoes, and no vegetables that we could find. It too deserves around 3 to 4 stars.
Old fashions from the menu were delicious and so was the Moscow Mule - topMarks.
Had the veal Parmigiana, and it was a large portion. Red sauce is a lot sweater than I like. Added red pepper flakes to cut the sweetness. Meatballs are large!
We went with our "lunch bunch' from St.
Francis Villa Assisted Living Facility today (12/28). Jo was our server and she was fabulous! Very welcoming, professional, entertaining, understanding and everything else. The food was very well proportioned; and even more delicious! Thank you for having our residents today. We all left with smiles on our faces and full bellies.
I can't say enough great things about Mr. Ed's restaurant in Kenner, bruh! From the moment you walk in, you're greeted with warm smiles and a welcoming atmosphere that feels like home.
I've been there several times and the food is a taste of home cooking, but without the accidental burnt edges that my dear old mom used to serve up. Whether you're craving classic comfort food or healthy options, their menu has something for everyone. Highly recommend!
A local and busy favorite. A very diverse menu with seafood, pork, and a variety of other dishes. It's a very busy place, but we got in right in time to get a table for five rather quickly. They seemed very short-handed, which is the norm these days. Our waitress, Michelle, managed to provide a good service in between serving multiple tables, talking orders, serving drinks and food, and even buying her own tables!
The restaurant was clean, everyone there was friendly, and the food was out of this world delicious I had the fried calamari for an appetizer, I had the southern fried platter which was Chicken shrimp and fish served with french fries. The waitress was very friendly and served our food with a smile. She even talked to us for a little while. I give a 5 star rating and Mr Ed's is a must go to restaurant.
I work here. I am proud to serve their food and drink. It's a nice place, with a happy environment, and awesome people to take good care of you. My name is Maureen and I love working as a server there. The food is "off the chain" excellent. Everything I've eaten there I've loved. Mr. Ed's in Kenner is a great place to have an enjoyable time. I work with some great people there.
