First time at Mr Bs Bistro and was an amazing experience. Service by Michelle and Brett was perfect and food was amazing. We had the eggplant sticks and fried oyster appetizers which were both fresh and tasty. For mains we had shrimp and grits, bistro burger and veal and fettuccine- all were amazing and very Flavour full. Dessert we topped things off with profiteroles and bread pudding. Over all best food we had in New Orleans and conveniently located in French quarter
A swanky dining area and a beautiful staircase to the bathroom. Our server Bryan was GREAT and the crab cake was the best I’ve ever had. (The portion of bbq shrimp in the photo is split. So it’s twice that size)
A friend recommended this restaurant and we had a wonderful dining experience. Tried a few of the popular dishes and everything tasted amazing. Our server, Kendrick, was awesome and attentive. Service was great and food came out fairly quick.
Service was very good! I'll say that to start because the servers were amazing. The duck spring rolls were pretty yummy, small portion but very good. The rest of my experience was terrible. Drinks are not traditional classical style, my 45$ entree of scallops were cold and the risotto with it was soggy and not tasty. I would not recommend spending a birthday/special event ; elegant excepting dinner. Not worth the money at all. The bread comes out in a bag, cold with no knife. Just expected a way better food service since it's so expensive!!!!
I stopped in for dinner on a recent business trip and loved the experience. The ambiance is upscale casual. Gentlemen should expect to wear a collared shirt and nice jeans at a minimum. Still, it was relaxed and not pretentious.
We started with the Duck Spring Rolls. They were so delicious we placed a second order. For dinner, I had the BBQ shrimp. The meal itself is a little messy to eat, but they prepare you with a bib and a nice warm towel at the end to clean up with.
The shrimp was absolutely delicious. They give you bread to soak up the wonderful juice. They offered extra bread to get every drop, and I recommend you take them up on it.
The staff was very kind, knowledgeable, and attentive. They made the experience very inviting.
I highly recommend you make a reservation and stop in on your next visit to New Orleans, the capital of delicious Southern cooking in my opinion.
A friend of mine worked here many years ago and recommended it when I told him I was visiting New Orleans this past October. It was my first dinner in the city. The atmosphere and service was top notch. Tables are dressed up very classy. It was busy but I was lucky and got a small table right away. From all of the food I saw delivered to other tables, it all looked good, except for a lady at the adjacent table dipping her tenderloin steak in ketchup (yeah, seriously, but to each their own I suppose). I ordered the BBQ shrimp at my friend's suggestion and it was very tasty - albeit messy. My server came up behind me before they brought the food and put a huge bib on me - then I really knew what I was in for! Do not wear white or light colored clothes and order this at the restaurant - and you might not want to wear white and sit near anyone ordering it either because the sauce can fly when you start tearing the shells off. By the way, the shrimp are very large and do come whole, so if you're squeamish about eyes and antennae, maybe something else is a better choice. It's a fantastic treat and experience. It's not a super thick BBQ sauce like found with smoked meats, but one you dip bread into after you finish the shrimp. Servers were very friendly. I went back a day or two later for lunch and ate at the bar - this time I got the pasta jambalaya. I found this to be a tasty and filling lunch. I don't really believe you can go wrong at Mr. B's.
Mr. B’s was amazing. We ordered the gumbo ya ya, crab cake, duck springrolls, and scallops. The last 3 were out of this world. The crab was so soft and flavorful. The scallops were cooked to perfection with a wonderful garlic sauce on rice. The duck spring rolls were very interesting, not gamey like some Ive had and the sauce was a perfect pair. The gumbo was a bit too salty for my palate. They were also kind enough to split meals on two plates without us asking when they found we were sharing everything. Finally, our waiter, Terence, was amazing and smoothly made up for an oopsie early in the evening. Overall, wonderful food and service! Definitely looking forward to trying more things on the menu next time we’re in town!
I am pretty sure wife and I don't visit the city without going here. You should too. We have dreams about the sauce the shrimp is served in. It is in the heart of things, so you have no excuse to "make time" to do it. Roddy, Joshua, and Pierce gave us flawless service, and the way they work as a team is smooth. Roddy sings behind the bar, and he could probably win The Voice. Listen to him singing behind the background music. Overall, I can't speak for much but the shrimp, but that should be enough to persuade you to go. Definitely recommend and see you there (the next time we visit from CO).
We were in New Orleans for a friend's birthday in mid-December came here for dinner on a Thursday night. After a very brief wait at the bar we were seated at our table. Drinks arrived promptly and the service was attentive all evening. We ordered a b
