Cool little hotel for a night stay. The decor is interesting and has a certain vibe but it’s definitely carried through the hotel. There was also a welcome drink at check in which I didn’t know was included which was a pleasant surprise. All of the staff were exceptional and the location is great as it’s very close to Bourbon Street. The shower was good as it was a rainfall and very hot water, and we liked that the vanity was outside of the bathroom. Also no complaints on cleanliness.
One of the best hotels I've ever stayed in. Am currently planning a trip to NOLA and realized I never reviewed this hotel when I did stay here. It was the perfect distance from Bourbon street as it's walkable but not so close that the noise and trouble are on your door step. The in-house bartenders were phenomenal, friendly, and genuinely seem to love their jobs. Rooms were impressive, clean, comfortable, and spacious. I am definitely staying here again when I return to the city!
Not bad hotel, but room was really small. The AC was always on, even when we put temperature above 81 degrees it would blow non-stop cold air towards our bed. The whole Hotel has a really strong smell, like Air freshener. My husband couldn’t sleep at the night because something in our room/hotel was triggering his allergies and it was probably because of the air fresher or some chemical was going through the AC. |At the Front desk is only one person which is makes the work so hard for them, since they need take care of the bar, guests and phone calls at the same time. |Cleaning was good.
The front desk clerk, a female that had long black hair, was quite rude the entire time of our stay -from check in to check out.
She seemed as though she had an attitude problem for some unknown reason. It dampened our experience each time we had to go downstairs to the lobby or front desk for anything, so we tried to avoid that particular employee.
The best service we received was from two men- one with dreads and another with short brown hair and glasses on.
The rooms are extremely small- take this with a grain of salt - this can be seen as a quaint, boutique hotel and the rooms may seem cozy to you. Or the rooms will seem crowded and a bit claustrophobic which was the case for me, personally. However, the bedding and pillows were comfortable enough.
There was a very strange/weird smell like mildew or something on both floors 7 and 4 (like a string middle or stale scent). It was noticable, but not overpowering to the point of not being able to withstand it.
There were some nice things about the hotel such as the games available downstairs, and the late night bar at the front desk area. The the core is eccentric and artsy in a nice way. The hotel is also walking distance to almost everything which was appreciated.
There is no parking at the actual hotel. Parking is a 3-4 minute across the street diagonally, and is pay-per-day or valet by request.
Modern whimsical decor and chilled vibes! Friendly staff and great location! Cute room for a reasonable price!||Star knocked off as there was no mini fridge for my medication! The ac was preset to 62 at certain times and constantly needed adjustments… brrrrrr!
The rooms are on the smaller side but their decor is nice. The satellite television was a little inconsistent but otherwise, everything was great. It's within great walking distance to many attractions including the street car to go to other places. You're close enough to Bourbon without the hustle and bustle of it.
I just left the Moxy Hotel in New Orleans and can’t believe how this Hotel is part of the Marriott Family. By far this was the worst hotel experience I’ve ever had. I am a lifetime titanium elite member and have stayed in hundreds of Marriotts. The hotel staff was rude and dismissive with any of our issues. We asked multiple times to speak with Jonathan the manager, who refused to speak with us. The people working at the desks were kids and rookies who could have cared less that we were unhappy. They had zero customer service experience. The hotel itself is dirty and ragged. Our room was not cleaned so we did not have fresh towels . The list of missing items is too expansive for the document. I would not recommend anyone to stay here and definitely not recommend it EVER!
I have stayed at Moxy Hotels in a number of cities and generally think they offer a great experience for the price. The New Orleans location did not measure up to other locations. I came to New Orleans for a business trip. The location, in my opinion, was good. Walking distance to many things. I checked in late my first night and they assigned me a room. When I went in the room it had not been cleaned from the prior occupant. Towels were on the floor and the bed was not made. I was given another room. In the new room the air conditioning would not go below 75 degrees. Maintenance did fix the issue, but now that the unit works I see the air conditioning is incredibly loud. Plus, I would say there are many visible maintenance issues that make the hotel feel a little in need ot repair. This location has not lived up to prior experiences.
