Mountain Shadows Inn & Suites - Hotel in Durango - 3255 Main Ave, USA

Don’t be deceived by the pictures online. The rooms are gross. My sons feet were black after walking for a bit. The floors haven’t been washed in a long time. Towels are thin. Beds are hard with broken springs. Showers are ok but you can tell there have been many repairs. The breakfast isn’t anything special. The pool is completely shut down and has been turned into a storage unit. Don’t stay here. We requested the room be cleaned - specifically the floors be mopped. It was never done.

Front desk gal was super friendly and even gave us information about local events going on. The breakfast was good, yes they do have a waffle maker! As for the room it was one of their remodeled rooms and was quite clean. The beds were clean. No stinky smells in the beds or anything so that was good. The TV wasn't working but they were aware of it, they are still under renovation. Pool is closed for renovations.

Do not stay at this hotel, the service is terrible. The rooms are filthy, smell gross, and the towels were stained. The costumer service needs some serious work, especially the older gentleman with the middle part haircut. Do not waste your money here!!!

The breakfast is highest level with eggs, sausages, tator tots, waffles, juices, etc. The pool was closed for maintenance which was fine with us. The TV didn’t have signal but front desk came right away & fixed it. Room was super clean & comfortable. Totally recommend this place.

Stay away. Room had dead bugs in the window track also 2 live bugs. We thought they were bed bugs but found out they weren’t. Did not stay turned our keys in and went down the street to the Hampton Inn. No bugs there. I asked for a refund since I did not stay no dice. Call it a $130 learning experience. DO NOT STAY HERE….

The rooms smelled terrible, there was exposed wiring hanging out of the wall. The furniture was broken, and the pool/hot tub dome had construction equipment. I would have liked to have known that it was under renovation at the time.

Do not let the photos of this place fool you. The rooms were dirty. There were bugs in the room including bed bugs!!! The pool wasn’t available it was packed with old mattresses and furniture. Upon checkout we notified the front desk of the bed bugs and he said he would contact the owner and never got back to us. Find another hotel to stay at.

I am giving a 1 star because the front desk was wrong. Not only did they walk into our room while still in it, but they said at 8:30 breakfast couldn't be put out. Breakfast was supposed to be done at 9 I thought... worst hotel on our road trip so far. Also the pool is not open and it does not state that anywhere on a website... smh
