A very Scenic Drive elevation 14,130 ft. The highest Road in North America. Was able to see Longhorn sheep plus a few grown creatures and birds. I would recommend this drive. Be sure to take your drinks and snacks nothing is available inside of Mount Evans.
The drive is beautiful and the views on top are even more breathtaking! We were able to reserve a timed slot reservation for $2 and use our National Park Pass. It’s a paved road all the way to the top and around mile 9 or so you can stop and check out Summit Lake as well.
What an amazing trip mount evans is. I've been up several times and each time there seems to be something new to see you missed the time before. Amazing views, sometimes crowded but not overly crowded like you find around evergreen. It's windy at the top and always cool so make sure you take a light jacket or something similar. I think it helps that you have to make reservations for certain time slots and try to plan in advance a couple weeks to get an earlier time entry.
You must purchase the ticket online. The route of about 16 miles on a road at times narrow, is filled with a monumental view to the northwest side, where you can appreciate pine forests, rivers, lakes, snow-capped mountains, tundra, and high-altitude vegetation. Marmots, pikas, ravens and mountain goats were some of the animals we observed on the road. The highest point of paved road in the United States, at over 14,000 feet. It did hail during our stay, but it was brief and we enjoyed it! Restrooms available in a least three different points of the route, including at the top.
Scary drive but worth every bit of it. Bring plenty of water and make sure to bring warm outer layers because the base point was 80F and the top was 40F when we went. Definitely be prepared for cold winds and take lots of photos for possible mountain goats!. One car was $15. Take scenic photos and ride in your bike if you are athletic.
Truly spectacular! Been up there a couple times and seen mountain goats in their element, way cool.
The road is better on Pikes Peak is better but Mt Evans is higher and you don't have to wait at the gate if you show up early, before they open.
Beautiful hike. Definitely not for novice hikers. be sure to download the map before you hike and navigate as you go as it can be tricky to stay on trail.
Mt Evans from Summit Lake is one of the easier 14ers to hike and summit. About 5 miles, 1,400 feet of elevation gain, and 4-5 hours round trip. Entry is free with a national park pass.
What an amazing experience! Definitely would recommend visiting this beautiful lake ! I had a great time hiking and fishing there with my family . Fishing is a bit rough, but just to be able to sit there and enjoy nature is enough to go. There are ma
This review is long overdue! My cousin and I booked a last minute 2 night stay back in April 2023. We were looking for a quiet, cute cottage to end our trip in Colorado and that's what we found. The staff were so friendly, the main welcome area is cu
From start to finish this place is just a dream. Itâs perfectly situated close to a ton of cool little towns and has a downtown that is also amazing. The room was exactly what I was looking for. Super clean and cozy and it is right on the beautiful
The new nature center is lots of fun for kidsâset up with microscopes and lots of cool stuff to look at, a night room where kids can wear headlamps and feel for fox fur in hollows, and a playroom with all kinds of animal costumes, puppets, and book
Beautiful place. Got the Enchanted room and enjoyed to the fullest. It's cozy, warm, pretty, and they even put a teddybear on our bed :) There is a fridge and a microwave and some dishes. Sweet and well-designed bathroom too (just one thing: the toil
We visited the King Soopers in Bergen Park when back at home. This was my grocery store for decades, and I still love it. Great selection of things I want.
Very friendly staff, great drinks and food, sometimes they have live music and they let dogs on the patio. Karaoke on Saturday nights at 8pm is always a good time.
Highly recommend!
