I recently took a trip to Hampton Beach for the first time. I decided to stay at the Moulton due to its proximity to the beach — it’s literally right across the street! Plus, with the balcony in my room I was able to keep an eye on the beach at all times. It was really nice! ||||Oh, and Wednesday night is fireworks which was a lot of fun! The staff made popcorn for the kids to eat while watching the fireworks, it was really cute and nice! Also when I was there, the staff also got an ice cream cake to surprise a couple who has been staying there for many years, because it was their 30th anniversary! I happened to catch this happening in the lobby on my way in one night. So sweet!||||Some other things of note:||||- The staff is super friendly and helpful. ||- It was clean.||- The bed was comfy. ||- There are a lot of steps (just something to be aware of).||||I really enjoyed my stay. Would definitely recommend!

A Perfect Spot for a Family Beach Vacation As someone who usually gravitates toward 5-star luxury hotels, I was pleasantly surprised by my stay at the Moulton Hotel in Hampton Beach. This vacation was all about making my kids happy, and finding a place close to the beach was a top priority. The Moulton Hotel delivered on that front—it’s just a stone's throw from the sand, which made our three-day beach getaway a breeze. One of the things I appreciated most was that parking was included and just a two-minute walk away. I noticed some people complain about this, but honestly, if they did their research ahead of time, they'd know what to expect. For us, it was a non-issue and much better than paying extra for parking elsewhere. Our room had two queen beds that were surprisingly clean and comfortable, which can be hit or miss in older, historical properties like this one. We also had a small balcony, a microwave, and a refrigerator, which were all incredibly helpful for our stay. Yes, the hotel is older, but everything was very clean, which is really all I ask for when it comes to a beachside hotel like this. There was a light breakfast in the morning, which my son actually loved—cereal, muffins, nothing hot, but it was just enough to start our day. Again, this is something that people should be aware of if they do a little research beforehand. Overall, I think the Moulton Hotel gets a bad rap for things that are easily manageable if you go in with the right expectations. If you’re looking for a clean, comfortable, and convenient spot to take your kids for a beach vacation, this is the place. It's not a 5-star resort, but it’s perfect for what it is.

I don't know where to start. My husband and I just got home 20 minutes ago from celebrating our wedding anniversary. He chose this hotel from pictures online and the ocean view with the balcony. The location is great, central to everything and anything you want. The balcony is nice and overlooks the ocean. However, upon check-in, we were given an inside room with a view of the roof. My husband had to go to the front desk and try to explain (language barrier) that he paid extra for a room with a view and a balcony and he would not stay in the room we were given. The room in the photos is huge with plenty of space to move around. The reality is that the room is about 9x9, if that. The TV has exactly 1 channel (TNT). That's it. There are no chairs to sit in as there is no space for one. The outlets are falling out and don't work well, our phones didn't charge overnight. The beds are comfortable but small. When you enter the property there is a death-trap set of stairs, about 20 of them, that go almost straight up. Elderly people will definitely struggle. The breakfast area is nothing more than some of those gumball machines with some very stale looking cereal (we passed, can't verify taste from personal experience). The most horrifying part of the entire stay is the bathroom, which is less than 2x2. For reference, I am 5 feet tall. I had to sit sideways to pee otherwise I couldn't close the door because my knees were in the way. There's a stand-up shower that is half the size of something you'd find in an RV, so again, we drove home at 6am (30 miles), and passed on trying to shower there. We paid almost $230 for the night and we're disappointed. We weren't expecting luxury but we weren't expecting so downtrodden, either.

3rd year coming back, it’s like family. Not only is the location ideal, but it’s like fire works are set off just for those that stay at the hotel. The rooms are cozy, balcony ideal for people-watching, sunrise and sunset, or just relaxing after a long hot day. Breakfast has a variety to Pleaee everyone in the family. Owners take time to chat when they are not helping others. It’s like our second home for a week each year without the chores. Thank you for everything.

I recently stayed at the Moulton Hotel with my family. This included 6 adults and 4 kids. We truly enjoyed our rooms that were connected with a large balcony. This gave us plenty of room to sit outside comfortably and it was super private. The location was perfect being only a stones throw away from the beach. This made for easy trips back and forth to the room. Also, the beds are extremely comfortable. I truly enjoyed the porch over looking the beach in the early morning sipping a cup of coffee and just hanging with the kids as they had their breakfast. Parking is not that big a deal. If they can't fit you behind the building. Their is over night parking a couple hundred feet directly behind the hotel. Yes, you have to pay out of pocket. But it's Hampton Beach parking is tight, get over it. It was not expensive and its a safe lot. When it comes down to it, the Moulton Hotel is a family owned establishment that is a historic part of Hampton Beach. The best part of my stay was talking with the owner and his lovely daughter Michelle. I learned about the history of the hotel and they clearly take pride in their heritage. With that said the Moulton Hotel is the "heart" of Hampton Beach and we will be back! Special shout out to Michelle. Thanks for the late night pop corn for the kids and making the place feel like home!

My Dad took his girlfriend's younger daughter and I on a road trip to Salem, Mass as she had never been. We went in early to mid-October. Dad found this place and we stayed for a couple of nights. We got to see the moon on the surf, and there's something very different (and awesome!) about beaches in moonlight.. and not only from walking down: we watched and listened to the surf in the moonlight from our little balcony that faced the water, and that was really very special! We loved this place and think it's just charming and I can't wait for me and my Dad to go up again, but maybe later in the year next time. Thank you for having us so long ago!

Beach front ocean views. Amazing staff with Beautiful views. Super close to EVERYTHING. Located right in the heart of the strip. Close parking, it’s only one block away. Ocean front rooms with private balconies, are perfect for fireworks night (every Wednesday night at 9pm) a plus is that the fireworks display happens directly across from this hotel. So it’s basically the best view for the show. In your own private space. The lovely staff makes popcorn every night and it was great for fireworks night. The kids LOVED it!! Continental breakfast is also included! We had a great time, everything was clean and renovated. Our room even had a jacuzzi bathtub, with jets! Although we were told that not all of the rooms have this luxury, some rooms have really small bathrooms. This building is also a historical landmark of the town. Which was pretty cool to see all the photos of the building since the early 1900’s. It’s family owned and operated. Which is also super cool, because if you need anything they are right on top of it, because they care.

This was the best thing we did on vacation this summer. We went in early September and had a one on one with Ellen. She was fabulous and so so so knowledgeable. My partner and I were so incredibly impressed with all the up close animal interactions,
