I have travelled the world extensively over 40 years. I ate at all restaurants ranging from pop & mom’s to Michelin three stars. This is my honest review of Moulin in Newport Beach. Located on the main shopping street, this spot provides for very fine french pastries and good coffee.
We ordered a delicious croque Monsieur sandwich with side salad with their delicious honey vinaigrette, we sat outside under their many umbrella tables, lots of space, will definitely come again.
Great ambiance and fair food options. The desserts could be more fresh or warmed up, but there are plenty of options to choose. The breakfast is good and can be shared for two. Overall, the atmosphere is real nice and a good place to relax or have a drink. I give it three stars because the places nearby have a bit more to offer.
One of my favorite French cafe I’ve ever had. The staffs there are all French and they communicate in French. I ordered an Opera cake with a mini croissant and a cappuccino. I really enjoyed my breakfast. The cake becomes one of best cakes in my life, so delicious! The mini croissant is yummy as well. Coffee also works great. I highly recommend this cute French cafe.
Great cafe. Freshly squeezed orange juice, sandwiches and croissants were delicious.
They used to be open during limited hours, but now they have a better schedule. Go for the smaller bite-size pastries. They hit you with lots of high-quality wonders.
Management and customer service here is the worst. They only have one young lady working in the front. I went in wanting nothing but a piece of French baguette and eggs. The person taking the order said that was impossible. She said I had to order the omelet and it came with a piece of baguette.
When they finally brought the order it was scrambled eggs and a piece of regular toast. When I informed them that they had given me the wrong bread instead of just bringing me the correct bread they told me I had to pay an addition $10.
The manager Emma was very rude. She did not apologize or acknowledge that it was their mistake. I paid the additional $10. She then purposely did not bring the bread till my food was already cold and nasty. At that point I did not want any of the food and sent the bread back without asking for the money back.
Finally, when I was leaving one of the waitress pulled me to the side and said this is a French Bakery and this is how they operate and that she wouldn’t come back if she was me.
Good coffee and deserts. However they refused to warm up my croissant. Huh? So i had a cold hard croissant.
After i posted this someone from the store asked me to name one place in Paris that heated up my croissant. Well i can not name one place. I lived in Andorra for a year and traveled all over France, Germany, Spain and italy. Never had anyone refused to warm up a croissant that i can remember.
Best shop in the world, I know. Took care of me as a child, took care of my Child, go na take care of his child. Still taking care of the whole Gaul family ... Thanks LSS!
