Mother's Breakfast & BBQ - Restaurant in Macon - 2146 US-41, USA

We were looking for a new, local breakfast place to try while we were on Macon. By the time we arrived, the lunch buffet had been put out. I ordered oxtails, rice, greens, Mac n cheese... Excellent!! The portions were huge, and nothing tasted like it was made with a short cut. Good soul food restaurants are hard to find, and this one is very good! The only suggestion I have is that it would be helpful if the cooks would feature two or three vegetarian vegetable sides. That said, we found the staff friendly, and accommodating. Nice people; great cooks!!

I was told this place had good bacon. I mean, and that was it too. My order was $18 and some change. I ordered bacon, cheese grits, soft fried eggs, and breakfast potatoes. Eggs were hammered.. i mean, good and tough.. not a soft yolk in sight, grits and breakfast potatoes didn't have an ounce of seasoning, and how you sell breakfast and dnt have any type of breakfast juice, i was so disappointed. But my brother said, "Hey, i only said the bacon was good ... That's the only thing I enjoyed was the bacon.

This is the first time my husband and I come here and not only the music was great but the service was wonderful. The staff is was friendly and I honestly felt like at home. I had the Vanilla Bean French toasts and it was just perfect. The simplicity of it made it all even better.

The food was ok. I had the baked chicken and rice, collards, green beans and yams. The rice was hard and the baked chicken was dry. The vegetables were very good. If I did go back, it would be just for that. The service was very good. The employees were very nice and welcoming. The price I paid was $20 for the food above. No drink.

Decent food, welcoming atmosphere, good for a group gathering. Limited parking, but baabee, the fried chicken is what you go for!! They left out my salmon pair, so they got tipped twice, and I'm going back just to get that!!! (And now chicken!!)

I went here for the first time today and I LOVED everything I ordered. The shrimp and grits & vanilla Bean French toast is bomb! The grits were so creamy ! Also, I got lunch for later which included ribs, mac & cheese, and the baked beans and the mac & cheese and baked beans were so good. Nice folks too! I definitely will be coming back.

Enjoyed our Salmon Pattie breakfast special this morning! 1st visit! Coffee was a little week. Will come back soon!
