Closed for good! Don’t waste your gas!

Even a roach wouldn't stay here! I booked reservations through the member program TripRewards, after having viewed the hotel photos online. Since I was unable to arrive before the 6 PM cancellation limit,our group asked to see the rooms prior to checking in. It was not even worthy of the one star rating that is the lowest possible on this site. Room #1 of the two I had reserved was the only one we were able to enter, because they could not manage to code a key to open Room #2, which was on the upper floor, and in order to get there you had to risk the deck which is completely dry rotted and pulling away from the building. In the room we were able to enter, the stench of the "non-smoking" room hit you before the door was open(As described before, a lovely combination of stale urine and smoke.), there were holes in the drapes, and carpet. Cigarette burns all over the furniture,just totally filthy. All of this I documented using my camera. We immediately returned to the office and made it clear that we were not checking in and would not be paying for any rooms. Never signed anything had no documentation or receipt since we did not stay. The location charged us anyway, and refused to discuss any refund. HoJo's corporate said that unless I could provide a receipt, and my bank acct # they would do nothing. My bank was happy to dispute the charges and credit my acct, after 3 months of fighting with HoJo's.

Motel 9 is your quintessential "dump" motel that lives up to all the associated stereotypes: bad location, lumpy bed, frumpy decorations, evidence that the door has been kicked in multiple times, shady individuals milling about, and ancient TVs. The shower curtain was dirty enough to qualify as a Superfund Hazmat project by itself. The funny thing is that this isn't the least expensive option in the area. If you're asking whether I would recommend staying here, my answer is "Not in this lifetime. Wouldn't chance it in the next one either."

There prices for a single are way too high. Then they have a room deposit of $100.00 and the hotel up the street charges $25. Go figure. I highly not too spend the night here. I have a visitor come in from out of town and want able to get a room at a competitive rate. These people are too offs.

The room isn't clean by no means. My girlfriend cleaned everything before she would take her things out or get comfortable. The rag she used was originally white and it turned a nasty brown blackish color. The toilet is messed up you hold the handle down till it flushes and hopefully it works the first time. THEY ENTERED OUR ROOM WITHOUT NOTICE AND WITH NO INTENTIONS OF TELLING US. The only reason I knew was because the vacuumed was missing. It does have a fridge and microwave but the insides are nasty. You open the freezer part and there's black stuff all over the sides, possibly mold because it looks as if its growing. After the first couple nights we had bites all over our bodies. And found bugs on the mattress. Asked for our money back for the 2nd week we already paid for and the refused. I had to threatin to call the news channels for them to even think about refunding my money. And then they wouldn't give me the full amount. TAKE MY ADVISE DONT WAIST YOUR MONEY!

This place was disgusting. The entire building appeared to be in a state of disrepair. I could hardly open the door because the carpet was peeling up in front of it. The first thing that hit me was the smell - a mixture of urine and smoke (even though it was supposed to be a non-smoking room). The window would barely open to let the room air out because there were layers upon layers of cracked and peeling paint, and the same could be said of the walls. The bathroom was the worst, with cracked tiles that I could feel shift under my feet. The tub also had cracked enamel and the shower head had a mysterious brown goo on it. The faucet stuck an inch out of the wall on bare pipe, and there were numerous holes in the baseboard (for rodents? insects?), some of which was screwed back into the wall because it was peeling off. The sagging ceilings were covered in cobwebs, as were many of the corners. After leaving to eat dinner, I decided I could not stay there comfortably and asked to have my pre-paid reservation refunded to me so that I could stay elsewhere. The manager refused and merely offered me another room. My fiance and I decided to sleep (on top of the covers) until we could safely drive again and left at 2 am. In summary, I am surprised that this place is allowed to bear the Howard Johnson name and I thought everyone should know what a nightmare it was.|

Do not stay here. The rooms are filthy, the bedding stained, the place is badly maintained, reek of cigarettes and who knows what else, and the other clientele are a bit scary. There are better places close by -- pass this one up!
