Motel 6 Ventura, CA - Beach - Featured Reviews (2294)
Checking in and when locking myself out of my room, the office was very friendly and helpful. I liked the fact that the room was reasonably clean and quiet. The refrigerator was a nice touch, and I did use it. There was also plenty of water pressure with a shower that had a consistent pressure and temperature. The bathroom fan worked very well, there was never a smell or steam escaping the bathroom. The towels were not stained or worn. The parking lot was well lit and felt reasonably safe.
At some time in the past, the room had a joining door in the wall that was closed off with drywall, the seams were extremely obvious. the baseboard was never installed. The blower on the AC was quite noisy and sounded like the condensation was not draining out of the unit, and the bearings were worn out. The unit did work well. In the bathroom, between the shower and toilet was damaged drywall with the drywall dust built up in the corner where it had fallen from above.
In my room I saw a few ants, a very large spider, and a winged termite.
Would I stay here again? Yes, I would if I were traveling alone again. Would I stay here with my wife? Not likely, I can certainly do better for her.
In the area, breakfast runs about $20 a person. Should I have gotten a room that was $20 more, it would likely have come with breakfast. Seeing as we had friends in the area, it was their goal to continuously feed me. Breakfast was something I was able t skip.
Clean, smaller rooms in a great location at a great price. Our double room's beds were both super comfy. The shower was small but pretty cool. And Alex at the front desk was great at anticipating our every need.
Affordable option in a great location. I stayed here a few years ago and also had a good experience. The motel has only gotten nicer since. A+ staff. Comfortable bed. Quiet. No weird smells.
We stay here at the 6 beach. Slept good the beds are comfortable. Min fridge in room. I used the microwave. I was in the pool. All employee treated me kindly. I have 2 cats with me they like staying here
The workers were friendly but the first night people came and made a lot of noise. It started at 10 pm. I complained at 10:30 pm. Nothing changed....called again at 11 pm...still no chance. The next day they came back at 11 pm and made a lot of noise and continued after 1 am. Consequently got poor sleep! I was there for my little brother's celebration of life!
The room was clean, quiet, and in a great location and Very COLD. The heater didn't work. They gave me two blankets because after checking two other rooms found their heaters didn't work either. That was great for at night while I was in the bed but didn't help when moving around in the room.
I was there during a storm so no heater was a big downer.
And, the shower was barely big enough for me to turn around in.
Unfortunately, I was at Motel 6 against my wishes and plans - I had been sailing solo from San Diego when my sailboat capsized at Channel Islands State Park. The park rangers dropped me and the personal possessions that I was able to save by throwing them off of my boat at the location.
That said, Angel at the front desk was very helpful, as was the entire cleaning staff members that I met. They gave me the personal space that I needed to organize my stuff on the first night. Then they watched it and kept it from being touched, let alone stolen the next day. Night two, last night, was quiet and peaceful, and tonight, my third and last night, is the same so far.
On the negative side, I arrived during the Ventura State Fair, and the prices nearly gave me a heart attack... about $143 the first night, $175 on Friday night, and $220 for tonight. At these prices, I should have been at the Ritz.
Also on the negative, no one asked me if I had AARP, so I wasted $24 over nights one and two, and the front desk staff seemed disinterested in giving me the same discount for nights one and two.
Overall, the cleaning staff deserves a grade of A+, the front desk a B-, the room a D for its cheaply hung shower curtains and small size, an A+ for a comfortable bed, another A+ for proximity to places to eat and to buy replacement phone chargers and cables.
$220 for a Saturday night at Motel 6?
"The rent's too damn high!"
Perhaps that's why there were so many homeless people in the area, which I immediately noticed... as I am now homeless (and boatless) too. 😞
I go to this motel 6 twice a year for a local dog show at the fairgrounds.
You have to remember it's motel 6 It's not a deluxe leisure hotel. And on the motel 6 scale this is pretty awesome.
The staff is extremely friendly and very helpful.
In fact I say this is the best motel 6 I have ever stayed at.
The redesigned rooms are great but I hate the beds. Is there a platform slab with a mattress on top. Just a single mattress.
I like the platform beds because my dog can't get under it but it would be nice to have two mattresses.
Nevertheless I keep going back to this place for the customer service and the cleanliness of the rooms. Yes this is a very clean motel 6.
Can there be crazies Yes. But I believe the staff makes up for everything.
Great job motel 6!
I've had the pleasure of being part of an incredible gym experience, and I can't help but express my gratitude for the fantastic atmosphere it provides. The coaching team goes above and beyond in ensuring proper form and technique, making the whole j
Awesome customer service! Diego was great and set me up in the store with a mask/snorkel combo for my cousin who is moving to Hawaii. Worked within my budget to get two good products but didnât try to upsell me. Would recommend this place to anyone
