Motel 6 Tulsa West - Motel in Tulsa - 5828 W Skelly Dr, USA

This place is full of bugs and was not clean. Hair and other things on the sink and shower. The person at the desk was wearing a dirty T-shirt, shorts and flip-flops. Entire property is very run down and needs significant repairs.

The first time I rented a room for two days. The room was present oh, and their customer service was top-notch. However I rented for 7 days and the room was not as pleasant as it was before. There are cockroaches so you better be careful. Bathroom was clean but had cigarette marks all over the place. Not to mention that this was a non-smoking room. But I suppose previous clients did smoke in this room as it smelled like cigarettes when I first came in. The customer service this time was not as pleasant as it was before. They can do better with the service. I give them three Stars overall.

When I arrived I was to have a non smoking room. The one I was given smelled so bad I couldn't stay in it. The front desk attendant said it was suppose to be non smoking, but fortunately they had just had a canceled reservation and he was able to give me a different room. This room was okay for smell, but shower was very weak and took a long time to warm up, the faucet on the sink was loose (although it did work). Carpet had not been vacuumed as I could see debris around the table and between the bed and side table. TV did not get very good reception, which was no problem for me as I arrived late and left early. When ever I touched the heating unit I received a shock and thermostat controls didn't work very well. Pluses: Bed was clean and comfortable. Linen was adequate. Parking was easy and access to expressway was good. Front desk assistant was helpful and personable.

Honestly, beyond the front desk my room,172 was terrible. The mattress needs to be replaced. It had a bad dip on the left side. The room smelled like mold and stale. And I found mold on the shower curtain in the creases. The towels had stains and one had a human hair on it. The bed I also found a hair under the pillow, so I don't think it had been changed. And the sheets were itchy and thread bare. It was the worst place of the three motels I booked for my cross country journey. And while I should have complained, I was so tired and time pressed, I didn't have that kind of energy. But your staff were nice upon my arrival. Also, I accidentally forgot my shampoo but there was none to be had because your motel doesn't have any according to the staff. So yeah, I was not pleased with my stay at all. I paid more for your motel than I did for another older motel in Amarillo that was so well cared for that it was amazing for its age. I could see the pride in ownership at that place whereas at the Motel 6, I saw very little. Your room had a nice configuration, but the contents of that room explained much of my misfortune for staying there.

The office staff was the only positive thing about this place! When we arrived our “non smoking” room smelled like an ashtray. The carpets were all stained up and sticky. The toilet was running non stop because the fluid master was not working properly and shutting off! There was hairs left in the shower, half a roll of toilet paper, and hair in the sink. Clearly the bathroom wasn’t cleaned. The comforter on the bed was stained. The sheets were so thin you could see the mattress through the sheets. The cable was spotty at best. We had it booked for 2 nights, and only ended up staying one night and then driving back the next night after watching a drug deal go down just 2 doors away from our room. I will never stay at another motel 6 after this experience.

I needed a place to stay while my house was being worked on. I work at night, so I was afraid I would have to pay for two nights since my short stay during the day would begin and end on opposite sides of the check in/check out time. I am grateful that I only had to pay a small penalty for what I needed. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The clerk was especially helpful when I had trouble getting my door key to work. Turns out I wasn't doing it right. I would not hesitate to stay there again. Despite being about a 100 yards from a major highway I never noticed any traffic noise while I was there. That is somewhat remarkable to me as I am a very light sleeper. There were several other motels in the same area, and they might have been cheaper. I read the yelp reviews for some of those other "cheap" motels, and a couple of the reviewers suffered credit card fraud after staying at those motels. I felt confident that would not happen if I stayed at the motel 6.

Pros: Close to highway, easy to find, ample parking. Cons: No weather stripping at entrance door. Mattress needs to be replaced. Room cleanliness was not ideal. Flooring needs updated from carpet to other. Spare roll of toilet paper would have been nice. Close to highway, being good and bad. Good for easy access, bad because there was no weather strip around the door and heard traffic all day/night. Plus the cold draft around the door, bugs could come in during warmer months. Carpet was sticky, needs to be washed. Mattress was overdue to be replaced (too soft in the middle and hard at the top/bottom ends or front/rear ends or near/far ends). Bed sheets were clean and shower was clean. No spare roll of toilet paper, existing roll was more than half gone. Long dark hair a found in bathroom, definitely not mine as I have short pale hair!

You get what you pay for. The staff was super friendly. The room though was dirty not vacuumed, dirty toilet, hot shower took awhile to warm up. Non functioning air condition. Electric plugs broken where wires were being exposed. 12" tube tv with all the great channels. No charge for pets. Dead roach found when moving night stand to use as a card table. No bed bugs a plus. I would pay more in the future to have the accomedies and cleanliness.
