Motel 6 Sacramento, CA - Old Sacramento North - Motel in Sacramento - 227 Jibboom St, USA

DO NOT BOOK here!! I thought the location was good since it was near the old Sacramento area but when I got there, there were shady people all over the place (hanging out and staying there) and there were homeless, shady characters all over the areas! I asked for a quiet a room since I am a light sleeper and when I got there, they gave me a room in a DARK corner of the building, in the BACK, where all the shady people and homeless folks were just hanging out there. I was like, "nope!", so I went back to the front office and asked for a different room. They gave ANOTHER room in a different corner section. I didn't feel safe as a female traveler, so I asked for a different room again. Well, this time, the Sandy blonde, tall lady was all full of attitude. Said they can't keep switching rooms for me as others have their reservations (um.., so was mine!). She brushed me off and said if I didn't like it, I can get my money back. Fine, I asked for my money back (but had to go through Expedia/hotels dot com since that was who I booked it through (luckily they came through and refunded my reservation after calling this Motel 6 to confirm). There was a guy there, waiting to be checked in behind me and he asked what was wrong (why I wasn't happy) and I told him what happened and pointed to the dark end of the corner of the building. Well, his response was, "I don't like that either". That was coming from a guy! I eventually found another Motel 6 after scrambling to find a hotel that takes pets (and it was 11:30pm!)... Luckily I found a wonderful Motel 6 about 10 minutes away and from the looks of the property, it felt safe and looked clean (and the room was!). The front desk lady who helped me, Lisa, at this different location was very nice, professional and sympathetic. When I told her what happened, she said that the Sandy blonde lady wasn't supposed to make guests feel unwelcome and was supposed to give suggestions to other branches nearby by. Well, that rude lady didn't do any of that, so it's not Motel 6's fault but the bad front desk clerk. It's a shame they let someone like that deal with paying patrons. Besides the bad experience with the worker who was full of attitude, the location of this place is a dump. Do not even consider this location.

Rates are very low for the area, you get what you pay for. The room itself was Morel 6 quality, very unadorned and functional, lots of outlets, refrigerator, microwave, and full bath which a lot of brands charging double the price don’t offer. Bed was fine, a few hairs which weren’t mine in the sheets though, which makes me wonder how well it was cleaned. People outside the halls were chattering at 1 am in the morning, it is not the hotels fault but still annoying especially since the walls are so thin (a common issue with roadside motels). It was fine for what it was, a place to lay down, but I would not stay more than a night.

A peaceful one-night stay, the room was clean but the floor wasn't broom 🧹 swept the bathroom was decent with ah hot 🛁 shower. Security gates made me feel safer. Slept very well, I highly recommend staying, I'll be back. Great location next to downtown Sac. (The garbage is poorly maintained, the housekeeping is lazy, and proper disposal of trash is a key component they need to improve. When I exited my room I could smell the trash. A modern labeled recycling station is desperately needed. Recycling ♻ makes a big difference.) Friendly environment overall.

Adriana was the best ! She was informative and gave me a great room ! She was also Was helpful and accommodating when I had to check out earlier than I expected . I would totally stay here again because Of here customer service skills !

I spent a couple days here on a business trip. It was very quiet at night and I was able to cool off in the pool without a bunch of people around. Hotel staff were all nice and helpful. Property was kept pretty clean considering the part of town its located in, is not very clean.

This Motel 6 is newly remodeled to the latest Gemini package. Everything in the rooms are new including new mini fridges, microwaves, and mattresses. The staff is very friendly and the rooms are always clean. The Motel also has a gate so it’s extra secure and safe. This has been the best Motel 6 Ive stayed at. The only downside is if you are staying multiple nights, no Housekeeping is given. But aside from that, this is a great location with affordable prices!

Stopped at this motel and i was able to get a room pretty late at night. price was reasonable but the room was definitely not cleaned. there was trash, used towels, open soap etc

First I want to advise everyone that if possible, DO NOT deal with Waleed. He claims to be the Manager but he is not! He has the WORST customer service, speaking down to guests, being aggressive & belligerent towards them, and he is just plain rude! The rest of the staff are very accommodating, polite, and provided great customer service! After having stayed there for over 2 weeks due to relocating to the area and looking for permanent housing, Waleed refused to extend our stay because I mentioned I would be contacting corporate about him (which I have). The motel itself is clean & safe (gated parking lot & nightly security that patrols the entire premises a few times a night) which is why we wanted to extend our stay despite Waleed’s terrible customer service. A few other minor negative’s besides the poor customer service of Waleed is that housekeeping service is not offered if it’s an extended stay but the housekeeping staff was accommodating when I asked to borrow a broom & mop. Also, despite “free coffee” being advertised as one of the amenities, there is no coffee pot in the rooms and the coffee maker in the office has a permanent “Out of Order” sign taped to it, though this wasn’t really an issue for us either since there are two gas stations right next door that does have coffee. I’m only giving 2 stars because as someone who has worked in retail for 20 years (10 of which being in management) to me customer service plays a VERY important part in the overall experience and to receive such terrible customer service from the person representing themselves as the manager is completely unacceptable!
