Motel 6 Richmond, CA – Civic Center - Motel in Richmond - 425 24th St, USA

Unfortunately, I did not realize this was an old motel in need of renovations. I requested a non-smoking room, but the first thing I could smell, once I finally found the room, was smoke. Finding the room was like going through a maze. It was located at the far end of the hotel on the back of the building. The way the building is made, you would think the rooms are in order. Instead, they are in sections. We went up and down the stairs 3 times before we finally found our "smoky" room. The bed was surprisingly comfortable, but the linens were thin and had 2 flat pillows. There we wall repairs that we're painted. There was no dresser, just a hard desk and a harder chair. There were only enough towels for one person even though the reservation Cleary said 2 people. If it had not been so late, when we checked in, we would have checked right back out. We stayed the night, and I didn't feel safe, checking out first thing in the morning.

This motel is OK. They have spacious rooms. Housekeeping comes around every day at 11am, but if you stay for more than one day, don't expect to have housekeeping clean (you're on your own) or give you any toiletries unless you request them. The staff is cool once you get to know them... I stayed there over a month and took just about that long for them to warm up to me. They have strict curfew that security enforces at 10 pm NO GUESTS!

My car broke down and I had to spend the night somewhere until the morning. So if you don’t have an emergency overnight stay,please avoid this place. It’s literally the ghetto and it’s horrible , it’s dirty with a lot of suspicious activities around, load music all night , people screaming all night.

So there's been some changes since the last time I stayed there and it seems it was for the better. The hotel is now a Motel 6- Civic Center, the maids wear uniforms now and the best part is there's security watching the parking lot all night. Now I originally booked through a third party site and it indicated that our room had a bathtub. This was a surprise because they've always only had showers. I thought maybe it's a new change made by Motel 6? Ya, No! I paid a slightly higher amount for a room with a tub only to find out that none of the rooms have tubs!? Whoever handles third-party sites, I'm guessing it would be Motel 6 really needs to get in sync and update all their information. Because getting the difference paid back to me or even future credit would have been nice. And although the office guy is nice he has no idea about any of that. *Heads up: the deposit is $100 and CASH ONLY!

The neighborhood is bad, the parking isn’t great, the bed is as hard as concrete and the pillows also suck. No smoke detector either. On the plus side, the guy was nice, aside from the bed the room was decent, AC worked and shower was hot. Indeed no WiFi. Definitely not worth it.

No wifi although the site says free wifi. The room has no real lighting. You have to open the window in order to get adequate lighting. Electrical wires hanging in the room and the bathroom. Bathroom is super dark and small. Staff are prejudiced towards people truly down on their luck. I had to give away two of my dogs so that I could have somewhere to sleep. They make you pay way more money and don't honor my6 app specifications. There is no security so you have people slamming doors, fighting, and yelling all night and day as well as doing drugs sometimes in the open. The only good things about the motel is it's close to shopping and food as well as the library. Despite not having proper bedding for the beds, they are pretty comfortable.

Terrible dirty hotel. My room had no outlets, walls were all busted up and patched with plaster. Bathroom door was busted and didn't close. Shower was dark and smelt dirty. Floors were dirty. Blankets were burnt from cigarettes. Microwave was dirty. Toilet seat was dirty and loose. TV and remote don't work. Also watch out for your cars at night. Mine got hit while I was sleeping. Would not recommend with hotel to anyone.

The first time I was here in room #104 it was peaceful and quiet. I'm a truck driver and need My rest. This second time has been horrible in room #117. Since I checked in at 3pm someone has been slamming the door really hard. I called the office to give a complain, and they said they would take care of it. It got worse. They have a camera in the hallway but I guess its not working, or they have their favorites. I'm thinking it might be that tweeker hitting the pipe on the staircase earlier. It's almost 12 am and the slamming won't stop. The staff in the front office were very friendly. But, everytime they would say they will take care of it, it only got worse with the door slammers! Hoping I get some kind of rest tonight, I haul US Mail, I want to be well rested and safe and others safe on the road.
