Motel 6 Rapid City, SD - Motel in Rapid City - 620 Latrobe Ave, USA

I stayed at this hotel in July of 2023 and had the same experience as everyone else who has given a 1 star review. The room was absolutely filthy, blood on the pillows, stained mattresses, looked like the floor had never been mopped, and all around looked like this place had never been cleaned. I took the bloody pillows to the office and spoke the front desk receptionist Jackie. She basically told me this was my fault for "booking a room at the cheapest hotel in Rapid City". I was not happy, she told me they would refund me the money and to find a room at another hotel. I knew the promise of a refund had to be a lie, and as expected it was. To anybody reading this review that had the same experience take it up with your credit card company! I stupidly used my debit card for the room in a pinch and was worried about getting my money back since I did not use my credit card. I called my bank and gave them all of the information, made note that offering a refund and not intending to give said refund is fraudulent business practice, and directed them to the rest of the google reviews from customers who had the exact same experience and were also told by Jackie that it was their fault for booking a room at the cheapest hotel in Rapid City. In no time the bank deposited the money back into my account. It is absolutely worth taking the time to fight the charges with your bank or credit card company!

The rudest staff i've ever dealt with! I had to change rooms 5 times because there was no fridge (need it for life-saving meds) the windows were cracked, no curtains, blood stains on the sheets, no towels, no TV remote, the floor was absolutely disgusting (my socks were black after 1 hour of walking on the floor), there were about 50 flies in the room I had to go buy a fly swatter, I had to get my room key reset 4 times because the lady at the front desk didn't know how to program it. Extremely rude staff, told me we learn how to wait in kindergarten! Awful hotel, rubbish bins were over flowing, I cannot recommend you STAY AWAY from this hotel enough!

Didn't stay here ( I know better ) after reading the reviews I'm just amazed that anyone even leaves a review. 90% of the reviews are the same... room was filthy, bed bugs, no towels, no toilet paper, holes in the walls, no tv, no heat or a/c and this no refund stuff? I'm not understanding that at all. If you didn't stay in the room and wouldn't due to it being filthy then I don't understand the whole no refund thing. You ask once nicely, when that doesn't work you grab the man or woman behind the desk, bang their head on the counter and politely ask would they like to give a refund now? No refund yeah ok, no refund=no teeth. And all these bad reviews are answered the same, oh so and so we are sorry to hear of your bad experience and we are looking into these matters as we constantly strive to to make your stay better. And some of the reviews are 4-5 yrs old, ok you have been striving for 4-5 yrs and haven't achieved a single thing so don't you think the problem might mot be getting solved? And all you pissed off people about dirty rooms why don't you just call the health department or the Rapid City chamber of commerce or even the state attorney generals office hell for that matter make this place famous and call the local tv station. And the no refund thing? Call the police, they are holding money that was paid in good faith of a motel room that was falsely advertised and you are leaving due to health and safety reasons. This is called fraud and they have no choice but to come and if you tell the police it's a safety issue by law they have to respond for your personal safety and welfare it's known as a law enforcement welfare check. Guaranteed the homeless population will scatter when the po po pulls in as well.

I stayed in this hole two years ago, by the current reviews seems like nothings changed. I was on my motorcycle and wanted to get out of the storm. One night and never again.

This place needs to be shut down. Reserved a room months in advance only to arrive after a ten hour drive to be told they cancelled the reservation. They “managed” to find us a room for double the price. Fine whatever. Get to the room to find it absolutely filthy. We had to go purchase toilet paper, towels and lights for the bathroom being there was no working light. It was laying in the floor. We then had to return to the store to buy bedding because ours was just plain scary and I’m pretty sure they found the mattresses in the dumpster. We also bought fans being the air did not work. No fridge, microwave, coffee maker, hangers, towels or toilet paper. You’re lucky if the tv works. Our vacation was supposed to last until Thursday but we could no longer take it. Thanks for a huge let down to a vacation we’ve been planning for a year

Awful experience. Room was nasty. You could tell they had only changed the sheets. There was no attempt to clean anything else. Furniture was broken and just left hanging haphazardly off the walls that had holes in it. There was literal urine on the toilet and the floor. I had to ask for a broom and mop because the floors were so filthy I couldn't imagine walking barefoot in the room. They made me do it myself too. There are homeless hanging out in the parking lot. Every employee here has face tattoos and they are not very accommodating to the disabled. All in all, I left before my night was over and I'm writing this review so u don't get stuck like us.

I would not recommend staying at this hotel. We got there and booked two nights. After seeing the rooms, we asked for a refund period. They said we had to wait to talk to the manager. The manager never got back to us. The rooms were filthy. The smelled like cigarette smoke. I was disgusted especially with the fact that we have a baby. We stayed one night trying not to waste our money. It would have been cheaper to book a different hotel though as now we all have head lice. They also will not give you a refund regardless.

This was a disgusting horror movie. I’ve stayed at Motel 6 many times. It’s always been cheap but clean. As bad as this place looked, it smelled worse. If there wasn’t a major event in the area so all the rooms were sold out, I would have demanded my money back and left. The first room had a pool a foot wide by 3 feet long of standing I-sure-hope-that’s-water on the floor in front of the sink. The floor tiles were black around the edges and peeling up with black holes all over. There were mystery splatters on the wall and lamp shade. The smoke detector was on a shelf and not functioning. Their were holes w exposed wiring in the wall and ceiling. Huge disgusting stains that I think might have been where something was glued to the wall. The second room - which was supposed to be non smoking- had cigarette burns all over the walls, furniture and sheets. There were piles of visible dirt all over the floor and my father says the only time he’s seen more flies was when he was in a slaughter house. That was god awful. The lady at the desk was sweet and they did give me extra towels when I asked for some to mop up the water. They still had the tags on from Walmart…. Pool was drained and closed. Ice machine was out of order. The only positive thing I can say is that the bed was surprisingly comfortable.
