Motel 6 Portland, ME - Motel in Portland - 1 Riverside St, USA

I recently stayed at Motel 6 and had an exceptional experience. The staff were incredibly friendly, respectful, and always ready to solve any problems that arose. They are truly hard-working individuals who go above and beyond to ensure guests have a pleasant stay. I will definitely be coming back! Highly recommended.

Very clean comfortable place to stay. Easy to get to off the highway. Felt very safe and the property looked really good.

Hospitable staff,clean rooms, great people . Easily to access off the highway. Close to restaurants,walking distance. A lot of parking area even handicapped parking and accessibility. A quiet hotel with clean linens. Will definitely return to enjoy another stay.

The staff is very helpful and courteous, and always will offer help when asked. Most important- CLEAN. Vacuuming the hall, cleaning the parking lot, as well as the lobby area- *every* day. Safety is also A+. My only complaint would be that the Internet is slow, and a decent connection is $5 a day. Oh well. Everything else is far above standard for the industry, but it's the friendly staff that really makes it comfortable here...

Motel 6 @ Portland, ME not a motel. But rather a shelter for immigrants (new arrivals). Government paying these people to stay long-term. Upon arriving at this location we were told no rooms available. Lots of immigrants walking around. Management only cater to their own kind. Try to make reservations for next month? SOLD OUT How about the following month? SOLD OUT Three months in advance? SOLD OUT How that possible?? Shame on G6 Hospitality LLC for allowing & maintaining a shelter.

Not sure what people are expecting when they stay at a Motel 6. I've stayed at 3 and the one in New Hampshire happened to the best of the 3, but all of them are basically the same. I knew what I was getting myself into before hand. This hotel has the basic necessities: nothing more; nothing less. I was actually surprised when I found a working TV in my room. The rooms aren't spotless, but they're clean. Don't expect room service or even shampoo. They only provided bar soap, but I expected that so I brought shampoo with me. The hallways smell, but I requested a non-smoking room and the room doesn't smell at all. You get what you pay for at Motel 6 and I suggest that you prepare yourself for the experience before you book your stay. If you do that, you should have a great experience at the hotel. The staff seems friendly as well. What more could you ask for in a 1 or 2 star hotel? You aren't staying at The Ritz-Carlton so your expectations should be low when you book your stay at any Motel 6.

1) Location/distance to and from bus station....good! Mini mall across street...good. That's all I can say good about it. 2) Front desk reception - friendly, but not knowledgeable enough about establishment. 3) Concerning room: a) Bathroom light too dim b) Shower has poor drainage c) Towels and sheets are horribly dingy looking and not fresh smelling. Strongly suggest using bleach and fabric softener, plus steamer to get wrinkles out of linen before making the beds or consider using cleaner services. d) One lamp light was out/not working. e) Remote was sticky and desk tops dirty/dusty. Had to place towels on them before laying my personal belongings down. f) Discovered Spider and spiderweb on the ceiling that came midway down between desk chair (where I used computer/snacked) and night table (yikes!). g) If air conditioner was not on, room smelled damp and rank. Not because it was summer, but from poor cleaning routine. Consider auto-air fresheners. **Upon arrival (after long travel), sheets did NOT look inviting and clean (dingy, wrinkled and rank). I let the front desk attendant know. She said she couldn't do anything, but give a new room if available, because maid service was gone for the day and she had to stay at her post. I volunteered to MAKE MY OWN BED if I could get cleaner, more fresh smelling bed linen. The attendant handed me some out of the laundry basket behind her that she claim came right out of the dryer. I took them and hoped for the best. I was afraid the next room would be no better or worse. I was only there for 3 nights - that was enough!! :-/ **I like MOTEL 6. I will use again, but not this particular one in Portland, ME. It was the absolute pits!! Poor management, no care, quiet, cleanliness or security. It it run more like a dingy, run down college dorm that allows pets....NOT GOOD. Hotel and Board of Health inspectors should visit this particular branch and walk the halls/rooms. It would be shut down for sure. Upper management, I hope you are taking this in.

Room is clean with friendly daily housekeeping, with the friendliness extending to the front desk. I was able to get a room with a mini fridge by request. There are a few downsides - the elevator has been out of order for the entire week I have been here, and there are no coffee makers in the rooms. Other than that it's been fine.
