Motel 6 Pekin, IL - Motel in Pekin - 2801 Court St, USA

When we checked we noticed a plunger next to the door of our room. We found out at 5am why it was there when the toilet started over flowing .Because of the lament flooring the flooding came into the bedroom. We called the front desk and they told us that they would call maintenance in the morning. I explained we needed towels now. We plunged our own toilet and cleaned up the room with the towels that the night manager brought along with a garbage bag. He instructed us to put the towels in the bag and leave them for the cleaning staff and joked that we were lucky there were no "floaters". I asked for additional towels and he did bring them along with a mop bucket. Never did he offer to change our room or discount. We went back to bed only to repeat this same experience at 8am. The morning clerk said he should have at least changed our room and that they had been having problems with that toilet. She said she could not refund our room but would inform her district manager. We have heard nothing.

Where to begin. I booked my room several Months in advance of my stay there. I had stayed at this motel previously and it was not in as bad of shape as it was this past weekend. The pool was closed down by the health department. The front desk had told us at check in, on Thursday, that it should be open by Saturday morning. Then another worker told me it wasn’t planned on being open for some time due to it being shut down by the health department. My room was clean, but there were some issues. The air conditioning filter was disgusting with about a quarter inch of dark grey fuzz, some of which looked to include pet hairs as well. It hardly worked as well, and when brought to staffs attention was told those rooms run warmer because they’re in the sun all day. The toilet seat was not secure and every time I did my morning duties I almost fell Off of the toilet. The shower did not drain. If I didn’t take a 3 minute shower i would end up calf deep!! The fridge leaked and there was a puddle of water in the bottom. Outside around the pool fence there were random holes, one of which my small child got his leg stuck in. Thank god he wasn’t hurt. There were also these pipes or drains sticking out of the ground next to the sidewalk on the interior of the motel. They looked disgusting inside and had flies buzzing around. I don’t think this is an employee/staff issue, I believe this is an owner issue. The place is slowly starting to fall Apart. Maintenance needs to be done regularly!! I am Very disappointed with my stay here and so are the dozen other people that shared the motel.

I will NEVER stay here ever again. I brought my kids and I to this hotel and 3 hours into being there we started finding roaches.. There was thick built up dirt all over and around the tub. My kids and I woke up with bites all over our body and when I told front desk the lady was very rude and only responded with “so are you checking out orrrrrrrrrr” and rolled her eyes as she walked away and refused to see the photos we snapped of things in room. Plus drunk people kept knocking on our door and walking away fast..

The only reason I am giving a rating of 1 is because the staff was very helpful . The housekeeping went out of their way to provide the right amount of towels etc.. However, the so called newly remodeled rooms were not so great. One room had a non functioning stove and was dirty . Another room had cobwebs all over and bugs . It stinks. The faucet in the tub was all corroded, the pressure and temps changed so much . There was no cold water in the kitchen sink , only scalding hot water to wash dishes with. The patch job on the ceiling was falling apart . The plumbing was terrible and the toilet did not flush very well. The outlets are a fire hazard and the fire department was called one night due to that.

Reservation showed canceled when I got there. The Girl at desk mad a big deal about it. I rented the room for 3 days until Friday. I asked I I could come down on Friday morning and keep the room longer if the job I was working on was going to last longer than originally planned. She said yes. Friday morning I go to do that and am told my room was sold out from under me and sorry for the inconvenience. I had to scramble to get my stuff and a new hotel. Also there was constant fighting from the other guests making it difficult to sleep. I had to ask for more toilet paper as no one was replenishing anything in the room while I gone working on nights. I would not recommend this place. I'm a boilermaker and told my coworkers to not go there when they got on the job. There are for sure 6 rooms that could have been rented for a month but did not. Because of my experience.

CALL THE MOTEL FOR PRICING. It will be way cheaper than anywhere online. Stayed here for 3 weeks for work. I'm a lady of simple pleasures, and this motel does the trick. Never staying in a motel before, I was pretty uneasy about the door open to the outside. I am young, and even I feel safe here. Its clean, the staff is wonderful and will do everything they can to make sure you're comfy. The bar attached to the motel is very convenient and the food is pretty decent. The only cons are that the walls are thin and some of the tubs need some loving, but just don't take a bath, turn your TV up and you'll be good. Best part of my stay? The people watching is absolutely choice. 10/10 would stay again.

Amazing room. Comfortable beds. Enjoyed the kitchenette and full size refrigerator. It came fully stocked so we didn't have to buy dishes or anything. Was rather quiet. The rooms were rather new. Stayed a long weekend and the front desk was great. Already booked it again for next month.

To start with, the bed was very uncomfortable. The room smelt musty. And of all things the toilet was in the shower. To me, very disgusting 😒. The shower floor wasn't clean and the ceiling in the shower was peeling off. We were charged a $50.00 deposite at check in and to get it back they had to come check our room to make sure that it wasn't smoked in (not that you could tell from the musty smell) and to make sure that all the towels were still there. Very inconvenient for us in the morning. The restaurant had good food but the barmaid had the personality of a telephone pole. The only real good thing I have to say about our stay is that our hostest at the counter (Victoria) was wonderful. Very kind person. So other than that, would not recommend staying. Again, the restaurant had really good food. Oh and we did not get to shower that morning due to the unsanitary condition of the shower. We should have asked to see another room but we were running behind to where we needed to be that day and needed to get there and didn't fully inspect the room like we should have. That's our bad. Lesson learned.
