Motel 6 Oceanside, CA – Marina - Motel in Oceanside - 901 N Coast Hwy, USA

The location of the place is fine, but the rooms are in terrible condition. The floors and walls are in bad shape, curtains are ripped and torn, and the AC units are extremely noisy. There are bedbugs, water damage on the ceilings, and mold in the bathrooms. This is definitely not a good place for families or even a simple getaway. The property desperately needs new owners or a complete renovation. I would not recommend this place at all. Additionally, customer service was unprofessional, yelling and cursing at another customer inside the building. Overall, it was a very disappointing experience.

The place was alright, however- we were staying for 3 nights, and on the 3rd day (last night) we came back to our room to find the fridge full of our food was completely emptied. We have 2 kids under 2 y/o and had a bottle bag with drinks in the fridge, as well as some leftover food and road trip snacks. About 60$ worth of items were all gone (good thing we took all of our belongings, but the fridge items, with us for the day at the beach). I went to the front desk and they first said there was no room service at our room today and I advised them there definitely was. Then he went to the back and came back and said everything was thrown away. It sucks to lose all the food and snacks but the worst thing to lose was our bottle bag to keep our kids drinks/food cold for our road trip. There was no consolation for the inconvenience and I walked around to look for the dumpster myself. I found it and there was garbage in it, but I could not find anything from our room. If you choose to stay here, be sure to take all of your belongings each time you leave because there's no accountability for when they take your things.

If you are thinking of staying here, don’t. Trust me. The room lacked anything you would think a room should/would have. No way to hang towels, wet bathing suits, clothes, no shampoo or conditioner, no microwave, phone, coffee maker (no coffee in the “lobby” either. Cigarette burn holes in the curtains and blankets on the bed. The man at the desk was very rude & seemed to hate his job & customers. He also handed me a dirty towel that had black marks on it. There were weirdos standing all around outside (not on patios) openly drinking & gawking at people. The pool was shut down by Dept of Environmental Health & Quality. No hot water, had to walk to Starbucks to get some. The walls are so thin. I could hear every word spoken by the people next door & when I flushed the toilet in the middle of the night it woke them up. So don’t expect good sleep if any because it’s quite loud. Everytime we walked down the stairs we had to walk next to a black widow just chillin in its huge web which for me wasn’t actually a big deal but some others might feel differently. The fake grass outside at the bottom of the stairs smelled strongly of dog urine (or people who knows) which to me indicates it is probably never sprayed off. The place just isn’t worth it.

To be this close to ocean you can’t complain, literally a 10 minute walk and you’re there which was so nice. However, we had a 2 double bed or queen not sure which, room, the bed covers and the sheets were stained, not sure if they were even clean to be honest. The mattresses themselves were disgustingly stained. The floors had some shiny greasy substance on them so we walked around in our sandals everywhere we walked. There was left over food left unswept under both the beds and there was a used plastic fork samwiched between the wall and bed on the floor. There were also unknown stains on the curtains and the walls. The walls were missing drywall in some spots, the table was very well used and pitted. A plus though is the check in and check out was easy since we reserved online. Unfortunately, I will for sure go to a different hotel next time we visit this part of the beach/ cali

Travelers Beware !!||||Checking in to the Motel 6 in Oceanside was a very disappointing and disgusting experience when it comes to customer service and proper treatment as a paid customer.||||I had a late check in, I was extremely exhausted from traveling and my room also had a smell upon entering and the bathroom had previously used toiletries (women's used bottle of douche and dirty razor blades which I didn't notice until I got out of the shower but I calmly addressed the issues with the front desk the next morning because I had to stay one more night hoping I can switch rooms. ||||Unfortunately they front desk was hostile saying I should have told them that night which wasn't 2am and not understanding and even the cleaning lady who was also conveniently in the lobby said she clean my room and then had the nerve to say I was lying by saying the bathroom color was not same color yellow in my room I checked in and even asked me to show her which I did and then she even apologized! ||||I also asked the manager to switch rooms but they said they were sold out and declined and were very much rude about it. The room was on the bottom floor which was also very noisy and I didn't get any sleep due to other people stomping and dropping stuff above me.||||The other woman who claimed to be another manager I dealt with upon check out was extremely rude and hostile and did not address my complaints professionally even after making me show her the pictures and dates of them as if she didn't believe me.||||This property is also old, the doors in the balcony or faulty and holes In the bedsheets and shower curtains and the balcony door was also broken and unsafe. I also told the cleaning lady not to worry about going into my room since I had my pet cat but when I left and came back she had appeared to have came in and cleaned while my pet was left alone with her in there!! ||||After all of the treatment I received overall it was quite disturbing, unsanitary and disgusting and I never want to experience that again. ||||I am also writing this because the problem has not been solved since they refused to answer calls and emails.||||They also said I could get a refund but then refused after dodging Agoda's (Booking) phone calls and lying about not receiving their email requests and this problem has still not been resolved.||||This property needs to be shut down and reported!

Listen- I've stayed in plenty of low cost motels that I have no delusions as to what I'm getting when I book a motel stay. The location is great, the rooms are fine for what you're paying and I never felt unsafe while staying on the property. My complaint is that when I pulled up to check in at 8pm on a Sunday night I was told there was a $40 cash deposit. This alone is a weird request, especially when it was never noted in any of the booking documents or in any of the emails from motel 6. Luckily I had 40 on me. They have an ATM on site which the guy gestured at when I told him I didn't know if I had cash on me. After traveling all day I wasn't about to argue so I just gave the guy forty bucks. He never disclosed how to get the $40 back. Then the next morning I was awoken at 8am by a MASSIVE drill right outside my bedroom. There was some construction going on on-site, that was also not disclosed. The worst part was I have emailed corporate now- 3 times- about getting my forty dollars back and about how unhappy I was to be awoken every morning of my stay and be basically forced out of my room by 8am unless I wanted to listen to drilling noise all morning.

Horrible service, awful rooms, and the only good thing is the location because it’s by the beach, we were there visiting my mother I haven’t seen in many years during 4th of July 2024, and there was literally cop cars everywhere, I saw them trying to break down someone’s room door, I saw them everywhere as we tried to watch the fireworks…it was very unsettling and unsafe, especially because we had a two-year-old son with us. We felt like we shouldn’t be there and neither should my mother.

Plus jamais! On nous a donné une chambre dans un état d’insalubrité jamais vu (draps tachés et déchirés , comptoir et frigo sales, toilettes immondes…) on a du changer de chambre . Ensuite la police est intervenue en pleine nuit dans une autre chambre . Puis la femme de ménage est entrée dans notre chambre alors que nous dormions… du jamais vu!!!
