Motel 6 New Orleans, LA - Near Downtown - Motel in New Orleans - 4200 Old Gentilly Rd, USA

I had to find a place to stay for several months while in between houses, this location was inexpensive and close to everything I needed. Having to be there so long they worked with me on the room rates, anything that needed fixing was fixed quickly and efficiently. Being this is a Motel 6 and not a five-star Resort I didn't bring overwhelming expectations but they exceeded my expectations and were very kind to me while I was at a transition phase between the sale of my house and the purchase of my new home. Housekeeping is very good and respects privacy, the front desk was more than accommodating and bend over backwards to make sure that I was happy the several months I was staying with them. The cameras and gated parking made me feel safe and I'm only 5 minutes from the French Quarter. I watched the owner gut room by room while trying to keep a running business and keep all the guests happy and he did it work a smile and a great attitude. I wouldn't hesitate to send somebody there to stay if they want a No Frills nice place to stay with great shopping and eating nearby.

Decent rooms all in all. It's not the absolute best neighborhood, but be smart, and it's perfectly fine. We stayed 2 nights and had zero problems. No bugs or crackheads were visible. Comes with a fridge and microwave good water pressure. Would stay here again

The rooms were large, the beds and bedding clean and comfy. The towels are smaller but you get fresh ones daily. No hair dryers which i brought my own. The staff very nice and friendly. This is a budget hotel, so don't expect it to be perfect. We stayed 2 weeks and it was clean and affordable. We plan to stsy again.

We checked into this hotel and checked the room and found roaches, rat droppings, or from some type of rodent. We requested a different room instead of choosing a different hotel because it was late at night, it was around 11pm. Staff was very helpful and changed our room, however it doesn’t end there… the room was nicer so we didn’t think too much of it, we still checked the beds and one of the beds still had stains, we always get two beds when traveling, and I’m glad we did. We were tired so me and my boyfriend slept on one bed, once again it doesn’t end there, we turn the air on and started coughing, we didn’t think too much of it until it started getting hard to breathe. I don’t write reviews but this is the worse hotel I’ve ever stayed in. I won’t be coming back.

Room was clean. General area of hotel was dirty and unkept. The entire inside of the hotel smelt like Marijuana. Hookers hanging out in parking lot and around hotel. The name is deceiving, as it is 6 miles from downtown.

Straight up ghetto of La ! But New Orleans is way overpriced in the hotel area! So unless you’re willing to spend over $100 it’s a good place to sleep! Checked the beds out thoroughly and at least no bedbugs! Nice clean beds, clean rooms. Made me out a $50 deposit for my pup but it’s supposedly refundable. Phones don’t work tried calling front desk 7 x cause tv didn’t work with NO ANSWER !

Absolutely the worst motel I have ever seen. I don't understand how there are any good reviews. Room was filthy and obvious criminal activity. We left immediately after seeing the room and parking area.

Good room. Very nice looking and 4/5 cleanliness level. Rooms have microwave and mini fridge. However they only have a couple bars of soap (vending machine shampoo) and refused to give me extra towels even though I requested them ahead of time on the reservation. Otherwise the service was good. Beware! There is no elevator. The desk clerk switched my room to a downstairs room no problem.
