Motel 6 Meridian, ID - Boise W - Motel in Meridian - 1047 S Progress Ave, USA

Not bad for a Motel 6. Room was good. Location convenient. Pool small but maintained. Can get busy without enough parking. The entire hallway seemed to smell of dirty feet however. And all the dogs! Ugh!

We’ve been staying at this Motel 6 location for a while because of some unfortunate personal circumstances. The staff, including Laura, Emily, Maria, and Norma (and Marla), have been extremely kind to myself and my family. The rooms are typical motel room offerings. They’re average size, and the beds are certainly not the most comfortable, especially compared to your own bed, but they work for what is usually a day or two. They have a couple of mini-fridges and microwaves if you need one - just ask ahead of time, especially on weekends! I can’t speak about the housekeeping, as we clean our own room, but whoever is working in the laundry room is usually accommodating if you need any extra towels, hand soap bars, etc, and there are some available. If there’s any issues, they are usually happy to help or will try to find a solution if you let them know. This is a busy location because of the cheap room prices - expect to see dogs (and potentially cats) if you’re staying. The rooms themselves are pretty soundproof. For example, you probably won’t hear anyone through the walls, but the doors aren’t soundproof, and there is semi-regular traffic in the hallways. Expect to hear a little noise. I’d liken it to the noise you’d hear living in an apartment, for the most part. This location is also right next to the freeway - you will hear regular traffic throughout the day and night, as well as sirens from fire trucks and police cruisers. It’s not too loud, but if you’re unused to living in a city next to a freeway, it may sound quite loud. You may see some cops in the parking lot - it isn’t usually cause for concern. There is a police academy/station less than a mile away and they check in at these two motel/hotels. If you have a dog, there’s a field right next to this location that is quite nice for playing and walking. If it’s not enough, there’s a dog park about a mile away.

Stopped while driving through to Oregon. One of the lowest rates in the area, but you get what you pay for: Small pool, no breakfast. No fridge or microwave in the room, and shampoo/conditioner cost extra. I get it to keep prices down, but something to be aware of when booking. Room was clean.

So I booked 2 almost 3 months ago! We were coming into town for my Grandfather’s memorial. When I booked I asked for three extra pillows and an early check in. I also called the front desk to see if the hot tub was working the week before we checked in and was told yes it was. So we got in later than expected and when we got to the front desk no one was there, we called the number on the sign sitting up on the counter 3 times and no one answered. Some lady that came in stated that she would get a hold of someone and told us she had been staying there long term and knows who to contact. I proceeded to call the number again and nothing. Finally this lady that was at the desk talking to us got a hold of someone and told us she would be right down. After we got checked in we got to our room and there was toilet paper and something left behind in the toilet. We realized you had to flush it twice and hold down the handle for it to go down all the way. It was gross. After a long emotional day all we wanted to do was go to bed. On our way out The next day we got up and headed out early to be with our family. Upon leaving our room the housekeeper was a few doors down, I asked her even though we were staying another night could we have the room cleaned up and the beds made, and more clean towels also I told her the toilet wasn’t working correctly. She said our room was not on her list but she would let the other housekeepers know. After returning that evening to the hotel there was dog poop on the side walk out side the front door and when we got to our room the beds were not made up and our room was not cleaned up and we did not have clean towels. That night we took our sons down to the pool before they closed. There were no towels in the pool area, the hot tub had hot water but it was not working ( the jets did not work) our sons went to the front desk to ask for towels and stood there and waited over 10 mins for someone to come to the desk!!! This is the worst stay we have had at this hotel. It use to be nice and clean, but now it is dirty and ran down! We use to love staying here but not so much anymore!

I’ve run my own vacation rental cleaning biz for ten years. I had to clean my own room after paying over 100 to stay in it. Everything dirty. Saw cops patrolling the area. Noise of cop cars and traffic kept me up all night. If I didn’t have cats while traveling I’d never ever stay in these motels. I feel cheated out of well earned money doing someone else’s job then paying to stay in it. Who manages these hotels? Do your jobs and have some integrity in your work.

Positive: I liked how fast the maintenance got the t.v. working for use. Staff was really friendly. Negative: I did not like that there was no shampoo in the room and had to go buy it at the front desk would of been nice to know that in advance to make sure to bring some. Negative: ""

Get what you pay for. Vending machines didn’t work on either, floor. They didn’t even take cash. Rooms were creepy and not inviting at all. Bathroom was probably the only decent thing in there. I didn’t get a wink of sleep and it had nothing to do with the beer. Daughter didn’t feel safe, suspect people walking around like they were living there. Walked out the elevator on third floor and first thing we get wiff of(other the stale smell) was the beautiful smell of Bob Marleys favorite greens! Cancelled reservation. Won’t go back.

I would not stay here again. We stayed for 5 nights. The 1st night I went to the desk & asked for 2-3 pillows. "I will get them right now" as he was bringing me the fridge that you have to rent for $4 a night, he never came back. The next day I asked a lady if we could get some more pillows. "Yes we will get them to your room". I also spoke with 1 of the ladies in housekeeping, she said yes she would get them there. I come back early evening, no pillows! So I call the desk & told the lady the above events. "Well if you haven't got them by now, we are out of pillows". I ended up going to Walmart & buying 2 pillows! The outlets in the room were very loose & wouldn't keep a plug in place. We found 2 that we could use, the others your plug fell out.
