This place is currently undergoing a remodeling project.
I was fortunate enough to get a so called completed room.
The toilet was mounted off center, the flooring less than what you would expect from a contractor. New tub still has stickers from the show room. The tile looks like a grade schooler did for extra money. The beds are extremely lumpy.
Light switches are new, but not installed correctly.
I'm guessing that someone is staying here with the trade off for labor.
The staff is extremely helpful and friendly.
But the family and the owners only care about the revenue that comes from out of town travelers who are not aware .
Seemingly quiet, plenty of parking, but the elevator is a little scary and the hallway is something out of a Hollywood gang movie.
Find another place. It's not worth the money you worked hard to earn.
This Motel 6 is quiet and has been a much needed respite for me and my pup. I requested a 3rd floor quiet room and it has not disappointed! CC the manager has been fantastic. And all employees have the most positive attitude.

I typically write positive if not glowing reviews. When I write a bad one it is well-deserved in my opinion. So here is my opinion.
Do not stay here. If it hadn't been so late and I hadn't been so exhausted when I checked in, I would have gone elsewhere. Nothing worked-- ice machine, sink, vending machines, TV. The tub had some sort of large, yellow stain at the drain. The sheet had a big burn hole on it. The hallway carpet was stained or just dirty. The lobby area was dirty and not stocked with coffee or water or, well...anything. I grabbed a blanket from my car and threw it over the bed and slept on top of it. Barely slept that is. I left the light on in the room and at one point saw a roach climb up the wall by the TV that didn't work. After a sleepless night, I couldn't get out of there fast enough. Nightmare.
I thought Motel 6 was an affordable option when traveling cross country and not needing to spend a fortune to catch a few winks before hitting the road again. I won't ever make this mistake again. Never again.
Now I give it a low rating on location because it's way out there where business have closed down.
The staff is great and fed me as they got food from a group in town who feeds the homeless. I was there for a month this time looking for a place to live. The homeless did come around often then but I think they are gone do to the camp being closed down since my stay last summer.
This place is the only motel/hotel in Lawrence that allows cats and large dogs with no complaints. It's not the Hilton but it's not a roach coach either.
I loved that my room had no carpet it was easier to clean and catch those fur balls flying(shedding season). It's close to I70 but I rarely heard cars/trucks.
Another thing I would like to say is the room I had was pretty big. It a tad smaller than my apartment I have now and I'm not kidding. Just ask my storage unit!
The clerks were nice, however not thorough. When we checked in at 9pm, the front desk clerk went up to be sure our room was clean, came back down and said "it's good, but there isn't a top blanket on the bed, are you ok with that?" I said "yes" but when we got up there, it was clear the bed hadn't been changed from the previous guest-see pic. When we told them, another clerk quickly took care of it. The tub faucet was leaking and they knew about it because they had the trash can under it to lessen the noise. There was food left from the previous guests. There was no remote for the tv and no ice bucket, but then the ice machine was out of order anyway, come to find out. None of the counters or nightstands were wiped down. I bought Lysol wipes to wipe everything down. The second night, my husband killed a cockroach(we had checked the bed for bed bugs and there were none). If we could've found alternative options, we would have. Won't be back.
Disgusting... housekeeping doesn't do anything. Front desk is short and rude. Our first room Wasn't clean the second room wasn't clean ny another means except the garbage taken out and the beds made. Hope we don't bring bed bugs or cochroaches home with us. 100% do not recommend.
0 Stars! To late to find other accommodations. Absolutely nothing good about this motel. Ask for upper floor two times, get a bottom floor room. Junk cars with broken out windows by entrance.Anyone could enter through unlocked rear door. Un occupied rooms left open. Air conditioner/heater couldn't turn off or change settings. Window had big gap between frame and building.Ants crawling on sill and curtains and floor. Disgusting. ( Had to go buy ant spray) Could see foundation, ground had been washed away so much. No signs on building lit. At the end of a dead end road. Creepy!
Looked deserted at first. I think it probably should be.Would not recommended under any circumstances. Better off sleeping in car at Walmart. Nancy and Maz! Response team! I don't think your generic responses are getting any better hotel conditions. I'd be really surprised if it isn't condemned very soon!
Entered room# 206 and immediately saw a large cockroach. Then another went under the bed. Then another crawling up the curtain. Immediately left and requested refund and was told by front desk there is a no refund policy. Horrible experience.
