Obviously a lot of fake 5 star reviews. Just look how many are one contribution profiles. Nobody is going to create a Trip Advisor account specifically to give this hotel an authentic 5 star review. Because it’s not a 5 star hotel. And no experienced traveler would ever call it that. ||Now let’s tell it like it is. It’s a hard worn old Motel 6. This is the cheapest chain hotel property for miles around. The best you can say is it’s low priced in a Southern California location where everything is expensive. ||When booking online it appears all rooms are non-smoking but that’s not the case. I was asked at checkin if I wanted smoking or non, said non, and was given a smoking room complete with ashtrays. I’m sure the clerk didn’t realize when she offered the choice that she actually didn’t have any nonsmoking rooms open. ||The highway noise is constant and depending on the vehicle, often VERY loud. The white noise of the A/C doesn’t block it out. Bring earplugs or enjoy the hum of every motorcycle that passes by.||The walls looked recently painted and the bed was clean and reasonably comfortable. Furniture and bathroom countertop were very banged up, stained and chipped but the room itself was basically clean. No extras, everything is minimal. Two mediocre pillows on the bed, two washcloths, two hand towels, one bath towel. Two bars of soap, no shampoo, lotion etc. No soap dish at the sink. ||Property is crowded - was sold out the night I stayed and probably at this price point it stays busy all the time, and there are people hanging around in and around parked cars at all hours. ||A few reviews mention it seems some guests are long term residents. I agree this appears to be the case. After reading about cars being towed I walked outside alone in the middle of the night, around midnight, to move my rental and there were various characters out and about but no one gave me any trouble. There is a lot of lighting and I wouldn’t particularly want to be out there longer than necessary.||I didn’t feel unsafe but the kinda people I usually travel with would have. This is an old urban motel with exterior room entrances. It attracts a clientele that matches the pricing. If you’re looking for a bargain and understand what you’re getting then this could be a reasonable choice. If you normally stay at midrange or higher hotels you probably will be disappointed with the comparison.

Awful experience. The room was bare bones and dingy.  The beds were uncomfortable and filthy underneath. The linens seemed to have come out of a POW camp. I kept my shoes on while walking around the room because the floors had a gross film covering them. My "clean" towel had a long strand of hair on it.  Don't expect a fridge or a microwave, or any ice for that matter (there are only two ice makers in the hotel and neither of them worked). Shady characters roamed the parking lot and our door did not securely shut. All this, however, shouldn't be surprising considering the hotel was dirt cheap compared to the rest of the San Diego area. What I did not expect was this one-night stay to end up costing me over $600.  When you check in they give you a handwritten ticket to display on your dash so you can park in their lot. What they don't tell you is that part of the parking lot belongs to a daycare. Not one person at the front desk warned us. These spots have a vague sign that says no "unauthorized parking" but makes no mention of who the spots belong to--a reasonable person would think that guests at the hotel are in the clear.  We parked there because they were the closest to our room. At 8pm, I received a call from the front desk out of nowhere saying "hey, move your car before they tow it"--I immediately went out to find that some yokel from Clancy's already had it hooked up to the tow truck. The sleazy tow truck driver was clearly stalking the lot for cars to tow, because I doubt a preschool would be calling to complain about parked cars at 8pm at night. Several hundred dollars later, we have our car back. I called the hotel to speak with the General Manager to complain about the situation. Of course, he claims that they have no responsibility for the fact that the signage is ambiguous and that the hotel, knowing it to be an issue (evidenced by other reviews on this page), failed to give good counsel to their customers. The General Manager was also exceedingly rude, and kept talking over me. He then tried to gaslight me, saying that the signs clearly say "no overnight parking".  Fortunately, I took a picture of the sign, so I called him out on the lie. After that he falsely claimed that there was a prominent sign at the desk and promised to send me pictures as proof.  Predictably, he never sent them. For what I paid for a night in this crappy hotel and the tow, I could have had a two night stay in the Omni downtown. Don't stay here unless you have absolutely no other options--and, even then, consider a cardboard box on a street corner instead.

This place was a dump. Paid nearly $300 for 2 nights at a Motel 6. Asked for a different room because the door wouldn't close all the way, and the security hasp hardware was falling off. They sent the "maintenance guy". He made it so that closes all the way, but the hasp screws were still loose AF. Mission failed. No refrigerator in the room, no microwave. Floors were filthy. Mattresses were uneven and way past worn out. Only one ice machine on the grounds. When I tried tried to use the ice machine, the desk clerk confronted me, telling me not to use TOO much because other people might want some too. Like, really? (I had a SMALL handheld ice chest, like for a 6 pack) 0/10, worst motel experience in my 47 years on this planet. Will not return to this location. May not ever utilize Motel 6 again because of this place. It's shocking to try to imagine how many of these 5 star reviews for this place are 100% fake.

The staff here was fast , friendly, and overall great! I had an issue with my card being charged twice because my card was supposedly ran as credit and the front desk clerk who I believe her name was Janae was very helpful in trying to find a solution. Once she got management involved I thought that they'd definitely say that my dilemma was not their problem and that I would have to solve this on my own but low and behold the Manager Mark did everything in his power to assist me, he even went as far as to speak to my bank on my behave to resolve the issue. I'd like to thank Mark and the team for being so helpful during my time of need and distress as I had booked a room for a week after splitting up with my fiancee and needed a place to stay just as much as I needed my funds returned to my account. Thanks again for all you guys do! I will be recommending your motel to all of my friends.

Since the room window was on the street side it was so noisy all the night, i thought i could sleep after 8h drive but not even 4hours 👎 the rooms are already so old not even comfortable beds. Do not waste your money here i prefer even to sleep in your car 🚘 or go somewhere else.

I came to this motel at an all time low. I needed a roof and bed and they provided. I did not expect to receive any service or kindness during my stay. My only regret is not knowing the names of all the staff who have made my stay a soul nourishing and calming experience. There truly is no judgement here. Maria P has been assigned to my room, 187. She always waves and smiles through the window while I am in. She took my disparate room into a magazine worthy estate. She has shown me how to live a better life and have pride in my surroundings. Thank you to all that are here at this location. You are remarkably empathic, joyous, and diligent. I should be Motel 6 and your carefully selected staff to make this a five star experience. Because of my time here, I will forever be a dedicated and loyal patron. Thank you for providing me comfort. You are truly the best. My only hope is that this review leads to promotions and pay raises. The people here deserve it. I cannot wait to stay again!

The room seemed pretty clean. The bed was a torture device. It belonged in the dump. Cigarette burn hole in the blanket. The air conditioner unit just did what it wanted no matter what the setting. There was a man outside screaming at 11 pm one night. The last night I couldn't potty my dog because it didn't feel safe with the group of people loitering outside my room starting around 9 pm. Horrible experience.
