I paid my pet deposit but they forgot to charge me a pet fee for one night. The manager and housekeeper treated me like a criminal trying to evade a simple pet fee. I told them take it out of my deposit. The manager acted determined to find something in my room so he charged me a replacement fee for the sheets because he found a few pet hairs on top. I seriously feel bad for someone with this little education so I just let him charge me. He was expecting a conflict, or a protest from me. Just don't do business with this place. They have petty, vindictive people working here.
Simple continental breakfast which served our purposes, nice clean room. I cannot fathom why this motel received such low reviews. Staff was wonderful.
The room was nice and clean. My only complaint is the shower. We were in an "accessible" room. The shower was nice sized. It had what looked a piece of weather stripping across the shower entry, presumably to keep the water in. However, the curtain rod was on that bows out to accommodate larger people. This cause the curtain to hang out past the weather stripping. Consequently, the floor became very wet when we took a shower. The tile floor was very slick when it was wet.
We stayed 2 nights on a work layover with our dog and it was great. Cleanest room I've ever seen. You can't beat $49 (+ tax) per night (sun-th I believe). Room had a desk w/chair and fridge. AC was ice cold. Staff was super friendly. The housekeeper, Judy deserves a raise those rooms were so clean. And Alicia at the front desk was super friendly and most efficient. We had a lovely conversation. Definitely stay here if you're in town.
We arrived last Saturday night with a messed bed, microwave and the room smells cigarette. I asked the front desk and informed me that he can give us a refund and can go somewhere else. We were sadden with his response, it's already late at night and we are already tired and still he still have a guts to said that. He also verbalized that we are lucky we have one room available for us. Then, he went to our room and examined and sprayed. Hope this is the last time how rude your treatment on your customers when they left without choice.
Glad I read between the lines of some of the derragatory reviews. We had a fabulous 2 night stay. Super clean room (I was definitely impressed and let Judy the housekeeper know. Give that woman a raise!) Room had a desk,chair and refrigerator, decent beds and arctic cold AC. For $49 a night and pets welcome, I was thrilled. Alicia at the front desk was so nice and we had a lovely conversation. No, it is not a 5 star hotel, but definitely exceeded my expectations. Well done Motel 6 of Dubuque, IA!!
The check in clerk was friendly and the location was great. Everything else about the place was not up to par. I know its a cheap place to stay, but I would have thought some basics would be included. No shampoo/conditioner. No hair dryer. Tiny bathroom that instantly fogs up. Also, though the temp was adequate in the shower, but there was just a trickle of water. It was difficult to rinse my hair. Not enough outlets, one being right by the front door, which was not a convenient location. Worst, most uncomfortable mattress we've ever slept on. Thin blanket/comforter. We actually bought a cheap $5 blanket from Walmart which was better than what the motel had. Dirty floors. Smoking smell, even though it was supposed to be a non smoking room. There was a little refrigerator in the room, but it looked like it had been beat up. My husband wanted to save money and that we did. We also have sore backs and and an overall mostly miserable stay. Definitely will not stay here again.
The service desk was helpful. Room was decent, bathtub a little dirty looking. The heater made weird and loud noises, but overall room was fine. Nothing special.
