Motel 6 - Cañon City - Featured Reviews (540)
Very nice staff. Room was clean and comfortable. Had an issue with another guests and their kids running and yelling late at night but the staff took care of it
After a long day riding motorcycle stopped here pretty late. Unfortunately place was not as clean as it should be - only to discover how bad it was when fully awake and it was day light. Rat poison outside my room might indicate why the less than 1 star review
The buildings look old and run down. The room wasn't as clean as it should be. Bed was not comfortable at all Tub was slow to drain and filled up while showering. No coffee pot in the room or in the lobby. Price on Google maps was not accurate. We paid more than they listed on Google maps. Had concerns of the security of our vehicle due to some shady/ rough looking long-term tenants living there. We will jot be staying at that hotel again.
Was a wonderful stay. Room was huge, and wheel chair accessible for my husband. The staff is very friendly, and helpful. Even a dog area. Horse shoe area. Children's playground. I was very impressed. Very clean, and quiet. I will stay again.
Not as nice as most of my other Motel 6 stays. The staff is great, check in was easy. The rooms have vinyl floors, which I love and the water pressure is very high (so high that the water ricochets off the sink into your face, fun) there is a picnic, horseshoe and dog area, outside.
The bed was squeaky and had a waterproof mattress cover that made lots of noise. 2 pillows on a queen bed, but I always bring my own. The pool was nice, but needed cleaning. Sketchy people/area. Cops showed up while I was checking in due to 4 or 5 young men harassing people that "live here".
I would stay here again because I'm cheap and it isn't terrible.
The staff was excellent, the room was comfortable, I'll stay again soon
I live in the local area. We had big plumbing issues in our home yesterday that left us (a family of 6) unable to use our plumbing for over 24 hrs. We needed to rent a room for the night mostly to just to use the bathroom/shower, so I found myself here.
I am of course familiar with the area and expected a cheap room (it IS one of the cheapest in Canon City) as the motel is older, right off the highway, with transients around. I thought it may be cheaper just walking in and asking for a room vs. renting on a 3rd party site. It was not. It was the same price; almost $100 for a simple 2 full sized beds. This location boasts one of the ONLY pools in the area, so I thought that was definitely a plus. It was a hot summer day- the pool was closed (for unknown reasons), but the hot tub was open? The rooms are old and smell like what you would expect an old house/building to smell like. It was not the nicest, nor the cleanest. I am 5'9" and I looked straight even with the shower head. I had to duck my head to wash my hair.
We only sat/laid on the bed for about an hour (tops), but it was not great. There were 2 pillows on each bed, and neither were thick. I put 2 of them behind my head to try to prop myself up to watch TV while waiting for kids to shower, and it was not enough to do that. The TV is fairly small for the room and when turning channels it lagged majorly.
I found myself there around 10:30pm last night. I pulled up and the whole feel was sketchy. There were a handful of people outside of their rooms, walking through the parking lot, people lurking in the darkness of the open doors, etc. While in the bathroom, it sounded like someone was using a shovel to dig outside of the window (which would have been in the pet area.) Still not sure what that was. I definitely looked out the window before I opened the door to leave last night. I debated letting my 18 yr old daughter and her boyfriend stay there, but honestly, I would not have felt safe with either of them sleeping there. Even the signs on the back of the door say something like "For your safety, lock the dead bolt and security latch while in your room."
Despite its age and problems, it DOES have really good water pressure. Also, the air conditioner works really well.
My husband and I stayed here for 1 night. Unfortunately, this was the worst night I have spent in any hotel. The AC fan was very loud to the point where we shut it off throughout the night to get some quiet. The tub had drain issues, filling up without being plugged up. That made showering very difficult. The beds were filthy, stained, and smelled terribly. The sheets were stained with sweat and was just disgusting. The floor was so filthy that my feet got dirty right after the shower. The fridge didn't work at all, it even started dripping water from the freezer section. We moved the night stand to eat and there was food and candy behind the night stand. There was also tears in the curtain (we were informed of this upon check-in and were fine since we still had privacy) and a bent wood piece near the bed. What makes everything worse was that the room hasn't been cleaned/touched since 5/29. I was hoping this stay would be great, but this was a big disappointment. I do not recommend staying here if you want cleanliness and peace and quiet.
I stay here about 4 or 5 times per year because I stay exclusively at Hilton properties. My colleagues stay in springs because they don't like this location. They think I'm crazy for staying there but it's very convenient. Now this stay there were n

An eclectic gift shop, clothing store, and fun shopping experience located in the heart of Cañon City. The owners are friendly and knowledgeable about the events and happenings in the area, and we left with maps and suggestions for things to do on f
Great 1.5 mile hike on the Royal Gorge Overlook Loop with just as good of views of the Royal Gorge as the park without the cost. The most scenic hike I've been on.
