**Edit at the bottom** Honestly, it's a 1-2 star motel, so you can't expect rooms like you'll see in 3-5 star hotel. The rooms do have a particular smell, but if you're a pet owner, you're familiar with it. I'd suggest opening the door and venting the room for a few mins. Pets stay free, so that helped my decision. It's not terribly expensive, and it is one of the cheapest local options. It has a laundry mat, and the customer service was good. My honest feedback is that it's a means to an end and a place to crash up to a couple of days. I wouldn't do a long stay, and if you're too picky, I would suggest against it. **PS Queen size mattresses don't need full-size mattress covers** **Came here again because everywhere else nearby was booked, and this place was the last to have a couple of rooms left for the weekend, and I'm so glad I did. They have gotten so much better! New mattresses, better sheets, cleaner rooms, better water faucets, it felt so much better than the last time. I will definitely be staying here more often for now on.**
We made reservations at motel 6 in Oxford Al. for a 2 night stay due to Thrusday thru Saturday baseball tournament. We live approximately 2 hours away from Oxford. Made reservations and was assured multiple times that they had a swimming pool that was a MUST HAVE due to having been out in 90⁰ plus weather all day long. We arrived around 6pm. and my grandkids jumped out to look at the pool and there was about a foot of stagnated, slimming green water and as my grandson said "IT STINKS LIKE SOMETHING DEAD." The acting manager said that the pool had been closed for 5 years. Poor service rather it's blamed on motel 6 OR Expedia booking agency. I'm still in the process of getting a credit back on my credit card. I will no longer go thru Expedia to book anything again or stay at the Motel 6 in Oxford Al.
Stayed here 2 nights for the Talladega NASCAR race. The place is run down but clean. The bed was comfortable.
Definitely stay at another motel/hotel if you’re considering staying here! The location was in a sketchy place, and was right off the highway so all night you could hear every truck and car that passed by. The rooms were by far the worst part. My family had to stay in two due to us being a family of 5. Both rooms had not been throughly cleaned in a very long time. Everything was falling apart, there were bugs on the floor, the heater in the room made horrible loud noises and kept us up all night. The beds had hundreds of stains on them and the sheets were so bad at keeping at you warm at night. The door could barely shut, and one of the dead bolt didn’t even work. If someone tried to get in they easily could. Overall one of the worst nights my family has ever had, you just felt gross and disgusted by everything you looked at.
No elevator no first floor rooms even though I asked.for 1 when I made a reservation. Had a pet refused to climb stairs so had to get refunded.
A pipe burst in our house so we've had no water. I needed a shower so I got a room here and the shower was wonderful! The room was clean and there are plenty of nearby places to eat.
A little expensive per night, but we have pets and motel 6 has a universal pets-stay-free policy so it should be a go-to for traveling pet owners. My room was decently clean, then again I'm not the type of person who carefully inspects everything looking for flaws in a 1.5 star hotel room. However, main complaint is housekeeping was pounding at our door every morning during our stay like SWAT team. Trying to bust in by force. Didn't want to exchange dirty towels and such at door, wants to come in, again since I have pets I don't want the door wide open with staff going in and out, so I ended up having to go to front office for anything since housekeeping won't cooperate. Requested and was granted a noon checkout by front desk, housekeeping acted like we were criminals (hostile attitude) and didn't believe us which took a bit to be resolved and made our final time there stressful.
First off you all need to stop using those outdated pictures of the facilities. Your pool is a concrete hole in the ground. Your rooms are disgusting and in utter disrepair. The room I was in (128) was a corner room. My door was loose in the frame, if somebody wanted to get in the room they could just kicked the door in! The water was slow to drain in the tub from the shower. I notified the front desk, didn't notice any change when I returned to my room later that night. The walls were fithy and patched from big holes. The baseboards were falling apart. This motel needs to be demolished or complete overhaul! The whole place is dimly lit. I didn't feel particularly safe here. I couldn't leave and go elsewhere cause I had already paid. I'm not used to a Motel 6 that was run down such as this one! Save yourself the trouble and go elsewhere! I will go elsewhere cause I come to this area frequently. The staff was nice and it's conveniently located off I-20. Those are the two positives I got from this stay. The one star I gave is based on those 2 factors.
Very good place to go and fish, jog, relax, walk, or feed the ducks. We enjoyed looking at the Covered Bridge that is there. The water fountain in the middle of the lake is pretty. I would recommend this place.
This gym is awesome! The staff is super friendly, the gym is clean, there is a ton of equipment to work with, and they have child care! I'm super impressed and will absolutely be getting a membership here.
