Beautiful park. Great paved loop and walkways through the middle. Pics shown from sunrise in late October 2022.
This is such a sweet neighborhood park. There's a walking trail around it, an excellent hill for sledding or rolling, soccer fields, and tennis courts. The playground is small but has lots of fun features, including a spot for smaller kids. My kids love the sandbox, which has a built in digger and an assortment of trucks to play with.
Beautiful park has a playground for the children. Beautiful pathways to walk during your morning stroll or jog around to get the day started. Tennis courts were present but it was 19° when I enjoyed my morning jog. Tennis wasn't really a activity in question. Wonderful people walking dogs and taking a morning stroll through the neighborhood. Give it a try you might like it as much as I did
This is the best neighborhood park in Champaign. Please enjoy it yourself or with your family, but don’t tell too many people about it. The people are great. Lots of walkers and kids enjoy playing together. Younger kids come here, in average.
A great park. I love the trees as memorials to people that have past away! My first time there…Nice playground for people who have kids!!
What a beautiful, large park! It had a great running/walking/biking path around it. Huge soccer field and playground are awesome.
If you want space to fly kites, BBQ, run, bike, play tag, football, baseball, soccer or any other outside fun, you can do it here.
The amenities of the tennis courts are usually available!
Love this park, so glad to have this in our neighborhood!

Morrissey Park,
from dawn to dusk,
with a multi-use path
enjoyed by all, rewards
its visitors in various ways.
If you ride through here,
please take it slow,
not just for safety’s sake, but
to afford yourself time
for friendly exchange
with others so charmed
by peace arisen
from design and usage.
Hail walker and cyclist,
or any one else
you may meet
along its way.
As for me, I ride it all summer,
long into fall, when weather
makes its passage pleasant
and passing gives way to
imagination and reflection.
I appreciate the gentle
rise of green westward:
in winter, it doubles as a
sledding spot for young ‘uns.
On the north side, a playground
gives those same kids outlet
for energetic play.
In the center, if you come early
to the courts, you may get a few sets in
before a league, school, or private-lesson
practitioner encamps for an afternoon
of forehand drills and avid contests.
The south, east and west, provide
shade, bench and table for picnic
or conversation. Bring a book
or pad, sip bottled tea and
eat an apple--all these options
are magnified within its
gentle boundaries.
Morrissey Park,
from dawn to dusk,
peaceful in daytime
and pleasant to walk.
* My Google review and park-riding poem for today.
Nice big open space, but playground is dated and not in best condition. No shade for playground or sandbox either. Soccer takes over the fields a few times a year. It is great for locals but I wouldn't call it a destination.

Plain Jane but nice little skatepark. Geared towards skaters, but great for practicing basic BMX skills. Features include: small quarter, flat rail, hand rail, small gap, stairs, ledges, hubba, banks.
The Flannel fest was really nice. Me and my wife attended last year and this year was just as nice. With more food trucks and vendors. Live band and more. Hope the Champaign park district continues to do more of these events year round for the comm
I havenât seen such a high-quality prairie since my summer at a nature preserve. I am absolutely in love with this park! There were tons of wildflowers, grasses, and unique bird species. Thereâs also a huge park for the kiddos. Whoeverâs takin
Great place to relax, plenty of parking. It's a nice little lake right in the city. The 0.8 mile path around the lake is especially nice to walk, jog, or bike.
Great for the kiddos and the doggos also the walkers, joggers/runners will enjoy the excellent sidewalks. Nice play area for the children
Some options for sports too
Well maintained

Granddaughters loved the variety of the playground equipment. The splash pad was also a huge hit.
Park is lovely, very large, and has a lot to offer for all ages.
This is a very clean and nice park. We enjoyed watching the Cross Country team run at the Sectional Meet today at Dodds Park. They have nice indoor bathrooms located in several different sections of the park.
