I had a great time at Morris Dam last weekend. It’s amazing how they built this huge concrete dam in the 1930s to control the river and prevent floods. I learned a lot from the signs and displays that explained how the dam works and why it’s important. The reservoir was also beautiful and full of wildlife. It is home to Santa Ana suckers, which are rare fish that only live in this river. The dam is in the middle of the forest, so I could see the mountains and the canyon from different angles. I also saw some yellow-legged frogs, which are endangered. I loved hiking and taking pictures of the scenery. The only problem was that some people left trash up there, which is bad for the environment and the animals. I picked up some trash on the way out and saw some other people doing the same. There are a few good people left who care about nature and want to keep it clean. If you’re looking for a place to enjoy nature and engineering, you should definitely check out Morris Dam. It’s a hidden gem in LA County that not many people

Nice place to hike. But if you plan to bring a furry friend, DON'T. We wanted to take our dogs out of the house where they could roam freely, and they got that. But we came back home with TICKS all over our dogs.

I wanted to come here to take my kids swimming in the hot summer because I saw on google they rated we can fish and swim but when I went there they forbade swimming, fishing and hunting maybe Because the water level is too low, it's dangerous

It's a nice part of the San Gabriel canyon experience. Careful.on the winding curves. Pay lots of attention on the blind traversing canyon passes.. motor cycles will be on the center line on those passes. Fyi.
