Great little museum to take the kids and would be great for just adults too. Art galleries, musical instruments from days of old, an awesome train set mini village, spark lab for children to get creative, clean bathrooms, cute gift shop, and fun New Jersey specific touches.
The art galleries have been so beautiful and well done.
Wonderful way to spend a few hours. Museum is fascinating, had an interesting combination of art, history and science. The Murtogh D. Guinness Collection is astounding and fun, a huge assortment of mechanical musical instruments such as nickelodeons and musical chests, as well as animated figures dating back centuries. Very cool train setup, lots of different trains and scenes,
Very interactive. Museum is beautiful, clean and handicap accessible. Plenty of free parking.
Very informative. Gallery of musical instruments and artifacts from history. Jurassic period, dinosaur fossils and many more.
This museum was average all around. They had a variety of things to display but there were some exhibits that were very small.
The automatons and music boxes are the stars of the museum. As far as accessibility they did have benches throughout the museum. I was also able to navigate the museum with my scooter. The bathroom was big enough so that I could take my scooter into it if I needed to.
I saw a lot of great reviews about the museum store. I was not impressed. It was mainly toys and there was not a big selection. I rarely leave a gift shop without buying something but this one, I did.
Another thing this museum is lacking is a small cafe or even a kiosk where you could buy lunch items. It’s a big enough museum where you could spend enough time there to warrant it especially if you have kids and do the Spark Lab. We spent two hours looking through the exhibits.
Went to see the bathing suit fashion from the early 1800 to 1950. There sculpture outside on the grounds are also fascinating to see.
Certainly worth a visit if your in the Morristown nj area.
Our visit came with complementary access to the spark lab. It was age appropriate for our toddler. We were accompanied with another family with similar age kids. The spark lab is a hit not just among kids but among adults as well. Shout out to BASF for sponsoring the lab! The mesum exhibits kept all of us engaged. We liked the floral arrangements encapsulated in glass and the music section. The music section had kids activities as well!
This weekend (1/9/22) was my first time visiting the exhibits in my local museum. In the past, I had been to a friend's birthday party held there and to an art award event when my daughter received two in high school. I was impressed at the quality and quantity of items in the exhibits. There are some interactive elements that encouraged to use without a dowel due to covid. Some repairs are needed on the interactive displays, but overall it is a great place to visit.
the museum, the staff and the building itself is great. the issue is that the collection is not vast. Unless you are really interested in music boxes or automation toys, there is not much else to see.
Really small kids will enjoy the toy trains and the spark lab but overall you can give this museum a pass.

This is one of our favorite places in Morristown! The coffee is phenomenal. The Turkish coffee is very authentic and all of their lattes and cappuccinos are also delicious. Their baklava is some of the best Iâve ever had. I really could not recomme
Itâs hard to find the words to describe how delicious the food is and the atmosphere. That candle you see burning is actually edible ð± and it tasted very good as well. Service was great. Salmon was very juicy and well cooked. You have to try the
