Whilst visiting Hawaii for the first time, we were treated to this place by our hosts and all I can say is — the Poke here has ruined Poke for me everywhere else! Fresh, melt-in-your-mouth goodness, irresistible flavor, and a variety of choices make this place hard to beat. Service was fast and friendly to boot! This is a family-run business and you can really feel the dedication in play by the entire crew.
It’s located in a fish market so it felt nice to get that cultural ambiance whilst enjoying my meal. Sometimes, they will even wheel in the “morning catch” right before your eyes… talk about fresh fish!!
I am addicted to the Hawaiian Salt Ahi Tuna and it has quickly become my go-to every time we visit. Really though, you can’t go wrong with any of the dishes here. Please stop by on your next trip to Oahu and support local business!!
Not a fan of raw fish, but the spicy ahi and shoyu limu were very fresh and oishi. Came about n hour before closing and business was still quite brisk. $15 for one selection and $18 for 2 choices, plus tax. On the pricier side, but then u r getting quality fish. They provide ice as well if u want to eat it later.
Some of the best poke I’ve had. Morning catch was great and they have a large selection of items to make your bowl. 4/5 only for the fact that it’s in a fish market and hard to find parking, otherwise it’s worth finding the parking for.
Best poke on the island. Always fresh fish, with an abundant variety of flavors and the nicest most generous and overall best service on the island. Also one of the only places to get delicious hamachi. (And they have uni as a topping which is a must for only $7)
Johnny, Crystal, and team do it right, and if you’re lucky you’ll get to see him wheel in the catch of the day and butcher it up right in front of your eyes for service.
In Oahu’s China town behind the fish market, what a gem. Also fresh squeezed juices around to go with your awesome poke bowl.
If you’re craving sushi, consider a sashimi platter from here instead, cause Johnny totally has an eye for picking the fattiest tuna. Toro all day baby!
Best poke I've ever had. This place alone is worth a trip to O'ahu. Hamachi is the best, which says a lot since I don't normally get it. Shoyu limu is also super good.
Really good poke bowls! There are plenty of options (king salmon, hamachi, ahi, and octopus), and the fish is really fresh from the same market.
A bit hidden in the back of the Oahu Market, Morning Catch is a more trendy stop to the parent seafood market next door. They served a variety of poke bowls, which included typical Hawaiian options like shoyu, spicy shoyu, mayo, etc., but also Korean-inspired dishes with kimchi. I opted for a Salmon/Hamachi combo and was offered an option of sushi or white rice. I picked sushi rice, only later realizing it would cost more. The fish wasn’t dressed well (so I had to ask for more soy sauce), and it actually felt a bit dry and on the warm side when I began to eat it. Although it still tasted quite fresh, I was unimpressed considering all the other local poke options.
We ordered 1/3 pound of shoyu limu ahi and 1/3 pound of tobbiko hamachi. The fish was fresh and with the dressing super umami in the mouth. The service was good. Definitely a must visit poke stop!
I have been searching and searching for great biscuits and gravy like I used to get back in Texas, and OMG these were so so so so much better than that. Did something different and went with the chicken biscuits and gravy and was happily surprised at
Ono, soo ono. If you enjoy the taste and feel of each bite in your mouth, this is the place for local, healthy, ono eats. Fresh every single time. This is the first time in my life that I have eaten at one restaurant three (3) times IN THE FIRST WEEK
Shoot was - as expected - amazing. Stunning mastery of technique, patter, and showmanship. Hilarious sense of humour, was great at working the crowd and had a lot of warmth and heart incorporated into his performance, and the story he told throughout
