Morgantown Motel - Motel in Morgantown - 2 Smithtown Rd, USA

I'm not sure why there are so many bad reviews. My overall stay was good. Sure, the room wasn't in the most pristine shape with dings and scuffs on the walls but it was clean. A few things you should know. This hotel only accepts cash or debit card. This was a minor issue for me as I only had a credit card on me at the time but the woman at the front desk was extremely helpful and patient while I figured something out. Check out is also at 10AM so be sure to check out before then to avoid the housekeeper knocking on your door while showering. Beyond that, I was very happy with my stay.

Paid over 700$ for 10 days out of the 6 tv channels four of them had no sound wifi never worked rooms was dirty nasty dirty . Ceramic tile in bathroom was busted an many was missing sink leaked an wouldn't take a credit card said cash only. Bed sheets an towels was dirty very rude an disrespectful ppl all around an my door didn't have an inside safety lock

On August 25th my wife and I stayed at a Hampton Inn in Morgantown WV for a Hospital visit early the next morning. We were given the "Special Hospital Rate" which was more than booking it through kayak, anyway we checked in to the hotel and went to our room and everything seemed fine. Then we noticed the lights were dimming, and going off and on, and when we turned the bathroom lights on it would dim the entry lights, clearly an electrical problem. We called the front desk and she brought up a key to another room, we moved our stuff and when we entered this room we noticed a mini fridge, which our other room lacked. We instinctively opened it to see if it was cold only to find it full of someones leftovers. we threw those in the trash and begin to settle into the room. Then we noticed the outlets on the wall that joined our old room did not work, so no light, no clock, nowhere to plug the phone in by the bed. We had food delivered and ate it then I went down to the desk to let the GM know what was going on, she offered yet another room, by this time it was almost 10pm and we had to be up at 4 to get to the hospital appointment. We said we would deal with it and went to bed. The next morning my wife got up to shower and the faucet did not work. we cleaned up as best we could and went to check out. I ended up getting billed for 3 nights, and when I called the GM told me that because of the issues we would get a complete refund. This was false they still charged me for the one night and full price at that. I don't like to be lied to and I expect the refund as I was told I would receive.

I have no problem getting what I pay for, if it's really cheap, don't expect much, but this place tries to scam you. When I walked in to check in the customer walking out before me simply said to me, "Good luck," and shook her head. We booked through their website, which they then claim is not their website when you arrive and tell you they only do phone bookings and quote you a higher price. Our card was never charged, thankfully. When I told her that Google associates that website with their business, she said "oh yes we know, we need to get that updated. That is not our website you need to get your money back" very casually, as if they didn't really care if someone was actually using their business to scam people. But they don't because they are the ones doing it. Bottom line, don't stay here. The motel itself is obviously sketchy but the people running it may be more so.

I'm not going to lie, I was a little hesitant at first to stay here because if other reviews but it turns out, this hotel had quite a bit of class! I had just came from the WVU football game and all the other hotels were booked so this was my only choice and had a fair price. In the end, it was worth every penny. I walked into the lobby to see lovely marble floors, a fireplace, and a great looking breakfast buffet! The lady at the front desk even gave me a discount on my room because I maybe had to wait 10 minutes for my room to be cleaned! This already was a great experience. I got the key and went up to my room and was surprised to see excellent hardwood floors, two beds with a soft comforter and linen sheets, a recliner in the corner, and a microwave and fridge. I had everything I needed to feel comfortable and like I was in my own home. After unpacking my things, an employee told me about the spa that they had that was located downstairs near the lobby! There was a hot tub, a sauna, a workout room, and even a place where you could get a massage!Being from the big city, I had a naturally high expectation and this hotel without a doubt lived up to that expectation! You'll be seeing me there again! Love this place

Scary!!! Didn't even make it to a room, the employee working was walking down the road before we got there and came back up to talk us out of staying (we already decided we weren't staying judging by the outside) I can't imagine what inside looks like🤷

The absolute hands down worst motel I've ever stayed in in my life. No carpet, no hot water in the shower, half the lights didn't work. The blanket on the bed was literally as thick as the room card which didn't work either (pictured). Had to prop the door open because I would get locked out and the maintenance man I happened apon said he wasn't allowed in the office so he couldn't get me a working card. They made me stand outside in 14 degree weather to get the room in the first place. My advice, DO NOT STAY THERE.
